This is the late astronaut Sally Kristen Ride. The first American woman in space aged 32. A scientist, a PhD in physics, and major member of the NASA research team. I think I’d probably opt for her as an inspiration to young girls.

My brother is dying. I'm waiting to talk with the hospice nurse to find out how long we might have. This is both heartbreaking and a relief. He's been suffering with Parkinsons for so long.
