Finally into maternity uniform! 🤰🏼 . The system is far from perfect (this took 9 weeks to come in!) but such an improvement from the old dress/cardigan get up.

I’ve had a wonderful few days assisting on the @LDNairamb HEMS Training Course. It was the simulation on this course back in 2016 that ignited my passion for active learning. A joy to see delivery of high quality care in challenging scenarios. Thanks for having me!

Unbelievably proud of the @UHParamedic students today. The MSc students are only in their third week @UniofHerts and they performed excellent primary surveys in challenging circumstances. Ably supported by our 3rd year BSc students, they all did us proud. #Paramedic #Simulation.

The BTP workforce is <25% female (worse in higher ranks). Look what happens when you offer part time training, leading straight into PT roles. Women more likely to work PT due to caring responsibilities. Offering this from the outset is such a simple way to boost participation.

More simulation today with @UHParamedic, this time covering blunt traumatic cardiac arrest in the woodland @UniofHerts. We discussed the benefits of thorough secondary survey. Identifying mortal pathology in order to nuance & focus our interventions. HOTT principles done right.

More simulation with our third year BSc students @UHParamedic. Learning the importance of controlling your environment while balancing the importance of oxytocin boosting factors like dim lighting and calm music. This new ‘mum’ is being supported to breastfeed post delivery.
