Boomers were the first individualist generation and are much closer in mindset to Millennials and GenZ than the generations that preceded them. The average Millennial retiree doesn't strike me as someone who will pass on retirement so they can fund the lives of their children.

I'm not in favour of helicopter parenting and that includes the crunchy alt-right version of helicopter parenting that revolves around isolating your child from the wider world. It sounds exhausting and super lame.

The past was a golden age for uninvolved fathers. They could emotionally check out while the women handled all the child and homecare, and no one really held that against them. The new generations of women have more expectations and it's a real bummer for some men.
