I am pleased to announce the long-awaited arrival of my new D2 steel line of hunting knives. A slightly more "modern" knife with the same fine hollow grind and ease of sharpening that are key to the brand. Also a very nice upgrade in sheath quality. Link in next post.

I mean having "your own place" was huge. The first guys to get out of the dorms at college had beer parties 3-4 nights a week at their places. Same for non-college, the kids who got jobs and rented some dump right after HS had a party pretty much every weekend. How it worked.

@Empty_America @josephjnichols Our parents are much more lax and friendly than Anglo-Prots, treating their kids as fellow humans rather than an object to mold for the rest of society, disregarding their will. Also, as you noted, we don't have that oppressive "childhood until 18 years".

For Americans, one of the core events in life is leaving home at 18. For males this event is often *keenly* anticipated years in advance, it's like a drive that starts shortly after puberty, causes conflict in the home. Evidently this doesn't happen to foreigners?.
@Empty_America Well immigrants, by definition, have travelled halfway across the world. I think it's just puzzling for immigrants to understand why Americans want to get away from family unless there's a large economic pull.
