our industry collectively uses way too many buzz words and struggles to distill complicated concepts and communicate them clearly to less technically savvy people. so i'm gonna fix that by making this shit easier to understand and share lessons about marketing while i do so.

@joaomendoncaaaa @0xBreadguy last closing thought before the blog:. it is really interesting to me how quickly people jump to “you’re a SCAMMER!!” as soon as they don’t get allocation. i’ve seen this with pretty much every airdrop. -took too long? farmed the community.-did not give out enough? greedy! you.

It’s unfortunate that quite a few people aren’t eligible for the @EclipseFND airdrop for one reason or another. But let’s be real. The group I have zero sympathy for are the ones who assumed that swapping and volume would be the main criteria, despite all the obvious signs.

example 3: transaction spam. flipside showed us how many different dApps you interacted with. already have spoken publicly about how farmers will spam send transaction between wallets or move dust (sub 10$) on DEXs to show “onchain activity”. v easy to screen for this.

example 2: discord. turbo tap linked all wallets to socials. we saw all your discord ids to see frequency and quality of engagement. i.e. if you kept spamming “gsvm” in one channel at specific intervals, we knew you were botting. this is a common discord role farming tactic.

example 1: autoclicking. there was the front end pop up implemented towards the tail end of turbo tap, but we also collected back end data for months on users’ taps per minute. there’s an upper bound on what’s humanly possible here. we warned that auto clickers would get caught.

jobs not finished. i might write another article with more thoughts after the airdrop is distributed. many “users” miss when airdrops were easier to farm and teams were less informed. most probably haven’t realized how deeply we were paying attention to behaviors using data ⬇️.
