It’s disappointing that such an important member of our community is stating we’ve abandoned our users. I’ve, as well as everyone on the
@arbitrum
team, basically been doing 100+ hour work weeks to try and scale Ethereum as quickly as possible. Things take time. Seriously wtf
Yes I have abandoned Ethereum despite supporting it in the past.
Yes Ethereum has abandoned its users despite supporting them in the past.
The idea of sitting around jerking off watching the burn and concocting purity tests, while zero newcomers can afford the chain, is gross.
The Arbitrum academic paper was published on July 25, 2018. The price of ETH was around $470. It subsequently fell to as low as $80. Nobody stopped building. Let's cut through the noise for the long-term signal.
The amount of resources that
@coinbase
is putting into their legal defense to make sure this is done right and no stone remains unturned is incredible. I understand that in many ways this case could be existential and clarity from both a legal and policy perspective is necessary…
It’s one thing to say that the Ethereum ecosystem as quickly as is necessary. It’s another thing to stare we gave up because we are all already rich. That’s just horseshit
@mehdirhasan
I think it’s because we always knew the far right were anti-Semitic. The surprising part is that the liberal and progressive left which Jews overwhelmingly identified with have shown to be too.
We are all team
@Uniswap
today. DeFi is worth fighting for. Sovereignty is a noble endeavor, and the transparency of blockchain technology and software is unrivaled by traditional systems. This will be a landmark for all of us.
Today
@Uniswap
Labs received a Wells notice from the SEC.
I’m not surprised. Just annoyed, disappointed, and ready to fight.
I am confident that the products we offer are legal and that our work is on the right side of history. But it’s been clear for a while that rather than…
The funniest thing to me about all this Blast drama is that folks assume that teams that are developing L2 technology haven’t thought about staking bridged funds.
Of course we have, I’ve probably personally spent fifty hours in the last six months thinking and brainstorming…
@DCbuild3r
@OPLabsPBC
I’m obviously biased here, so take my perspective with a Himalayan-sized grain of salt but I don’t think the criticism is because they don’t have proofs live.
Building proofs is hard, decentralizing proofs and making them permissionless is harder. If they think the best roadmap…
Cannon (CANNON CANNON CANNON) is our next-gen fault proof architecture, and it’s coming soon.
It enables optimal data costs.
It effortlessly preserves EVM equivalence.
Its very first bug bounty goes live today. 💥
Really excited to see
@CelestiaOrg
announce support for the Arbitrum stack!
While we
@OffchainLabs
have built out a lot of the Arbitrum stack, it is awesome seeing other teams making meaningful contributions to the core tech, enabling developers and builders more options as…
Announcing integration into

@Reddit

Has there been a more significant onboarding to Web3 moment at scale in our short blockchain history?

@arbitrum
Nitro, in all its glory, a year after our launch, is an incredible feat of engineering (none of which I can take credit for). I am honored to be part of a team so focused on shipping quality products.
As a gift for Arbitrum One’s first anniversary, we’ll be migrating it to Nitro on August 31st - a year after opening Arbitrum One in public beta!! 🥳🚀

Lot of people were excited about Treasure DAO announcements this week. As someone who has worked closely with them for two years, I’m not surprised.
It’s amazing how many projects were considered like Treasure in the peak of the bull that are now gone. Congrats to
@karelvuong

@TrevorKeck
You haven’t mentioned it once on your social media until two days ago in a reply when someone called you out for highlighting a video about Israel’s responsibilities in combat at a hospital. It’s day 44, stop acting like this has been at the top priority of your comms since they…
After an awesome week in Paris and a weekend to recover, some thoughts from an incredible ETHCC (through the lens of someone focused on
@arbitrum
tech and ecosystem and broader scaling). This post is going to be a long one so I’m getting ready for those “I’m sorry that…
This is very cool and congrats to all those building in the
@StarkWareLtd
and
@Starknet
ecosystem!
Decentralizing prover technology is super critical and awesome to see the progress being made here.
To shamelessly plug, big announcement coming out of
@OffchainLabs
soon that…
Arbitrum One passed 1.3m $ETH in the bridge yesterday for the first time in history.
It’s where liquidity continues to migrate and be accessible for protocols and app developers to take advantage of.
If you are seeing higher than expected gas fees on
@Arbitrum
right now because of congestion due to the Odyssey its because there are a ton of people rushing in to complete tasks. You have a week to complete, no need to rush!
@mehdirhasan
The United States did an independent analysis and came to the same conclusion. Does anyone have evidence it was Israel other than a public Hamas statement which is contradicted by private Hamas conversations that Israel published?
(Maybe?) Controversial take: There is an abundance of cheap blockspace and current users don't seem to have internalized the difference rollups and sidechains or between $.05 and $.01 transactions.
Solving for UX issues like account abstraction is higher priority than EIP-4844.
Was a pleasure to share the stage with
@JohannKerbrat
to announce the collaboration between
@RobinhoodApp
and
@arbitrum
!
Robinhood is going to be supporting native Arbitrum swaps in the wallet! This is an awesome initiative that connects their trading community and Web3!…
There is more happening in the
@arbitrum
ecosystem today than I ever remember since the network launched. Exhausted and energized simultaneously.
- DeFi keeps growing
- Arbitrum governance showing its relentless passion
- Stylus adoption slowly but surely
- Orbit explosion
-…
I'm confused.
@0xMarcB
I thought you guys were only going to vote the $APE you acquired if someone else who you consider to be conflicted voted. It looks like you immediately voted them?
At what point does this morph from trying to level a playing field to a straight up…
Hey
@arbitrum
fam - we just crossed 1.7m $ETH in the bridge contract. Let's get that number to start with a 2 by the end of Q2.
The liquidity layer of Ethereum.
@profgalloway
I recently moved funds from Robinhood to Schwab and it’s unbelievable how much less I’m checking. The addictive nature of the design is remarkable
Both Arbitrum One (1.26m) and Arbitrum Nova (1.18m) transactions processed more transactions than Ethereum (939k) today. Its incredible seeing the ecosystems scale!
Just the beginning!
It is so exciting that community governance and control is now in place.
So much work went into designing this transition and I’m really feeling stoked for the next stage in Arbitrum’s journey!
Let’s build and scale Ethereum together!
@KenRoth
@TheEconomist
I thought your longstanding position is that criticism of Israel was distinct from anti-semitism? I guess your policy has conveniently changed to keep up with the narrative? Shocked.
Grzegorz Braun, a far-right member of Poland's Parliament, removed a fire extinguisher from the wall and extinguished the candles on a Menorah.
Braun has a long history of antisemitism, including publicly asserting that the Holocaust has benefited international Jewry.
Long long stream of consciousness: I’ve found the way that L2s have played out post-4844 to be fascinating.
The increase in demand for blockspace happened quicker than I would have expected and the bottleneck for scaling within a single L2 switched from DA to execution…
I've never been much of a threadoor, but I have some reflections on what was a very complicated 2022.
My key takeaways 🧵:
1) Maintain humility
2) No shortcuts and think sustainably
3) Be optimistic for 2023!
👀Where's the hot ball of money flowing throughout the top L1s and L2s?
A quick breakdown over the last 3 months:
1. The big winner?
@arbitrum
has seen over $2b in net flows.
2. The big loser? Ethereum. The L1 has seen over $3b in net outflows. However, this is offset by $3b…
The Graph is scaling on L2. Starting today, you can access The Graph Network on
@arbitrum

Operating the protocol on Arbitrum One means lower gas fees, faster transactions & easier participation in The Graph Network 🌐
Wondering how to get started & what’s next? 🌱
@iamDCinvestor
@bantg
This is the risk with the current DAO model. How do you decide something in a decentralized fashion without tipping your cap on what that decision is. A very difficult problem to solve
Incredibly pumped that
@arbitrum

Have spent the last few weeks chatting working on this, and it is extremely exciting to see the passion that the team has to build out…
Introducing AnimeChain, an Arbitrum Orbit chain, in collaboration with

With
@Azuki

Super long thought that I have had on my mind from the perspective of a builder with respect to memecoins and everything that is happening right now in crypto.
When I first discovered Bitcoin in 2014 the two themes that immediately attracted me to it were 1) sovereignty and 2)…
Many top tier scaling protocols and applications have a similar history. There are tens of thousands of people focused on changing the world. It's an amazing industry with the best people working on constantly improving. Feel so fortunate to be able to do my share.
@TusharJain_
There are literally at least four world-class teams of engineers (disclosure: I work in a strategy role at
@OffchainLabs
building
@arbitrum
) that have dedicated years of their life to solving this, never mind the dozens of people working on ETH 2.0. What are you talking about?
@Shiroh1ge
@0xrelied
@AureliusBTC
Arbitrum didn’t have the same issues at all. During times of high L1 gas the system is designed to hold off on posting batches to Ethereum and price increases are smoothed. I don’t believe swap prices went above 5 dollars.
Wow, this will be some great reading from some heavy heavy hitters.
I’ve said this a bunch of times - the work and money that
@coinbase
is putting into defending this suit is going to put this industry in a better place for many years to come.
We all should be applauding…
I can't say enough how gratifying it is to get support from so many amici today. Thank you. I appreciate the effort behind these briefs, and can't wait to read every word. I know they will prove useful to the Court in understanding the legal errors of the SEC's ways. Links below.
The amount of engagement in the ArbitrumDAO for a fully bottom-up initiative is completely unprecedented in this industry's history.
Still extremely nascent in this experiment but the early stages of social coordination are there. I am so curious to see how this all plays out.
The DeFi community on
@arbitrum
is doing an incredible job building products that people want to use, and are capable of sustaining themselves with
#realyield
. It is only a matter of time until the entire world discovers this!
Im sorry but this ETF launch is probably the funniest thing I’ve ever seen when you consider all of the criticism lobbied at crypto over the last five years
Anyone know why there are 14 wallets on Base that popped up over the last two weeks holding exactly $25.25m worth of USDC?
Whose wallets are these?
@nansen_ai
any tagging on them?
I am extremely excited about this advancement in accessibility of the Arbitrum Orbit stack.
The goal of the approach was always to try and find the best balance between protocol sustainability and accessibility by everyone.
After a few months it became obvious that the L3…

Today, we introduce an Arbitrum Orbit Expansion Program, allowing you to have a self-service path to launch custom Orbit chains (L2s or L3s) that settle…
This just looks so fun. The vibes are incredible. Congrats
@smolbound
and
@Treasure_DAO
on this. I know it has been a long time in the works and excited you were able to share this with all of us!
This is incredible to see.
@Uniswap
let's make this a trend!
One of the interesting things is that a lot of it is ETH and stables which indicates to me its a lot of migration of ETH mainnet capital.
Yesterday's volume on Arbitrum hit an all time high, at $1,115,140,278. 🔷
Which makes Arbitrum the first L2 to cross a billion in daily volume on Uniswap. 🫡
Congratulations to the
@ExPopulus
team on this, such huge news and I’m super stoked to collaborate on this and see where it goes. Such an awesome team with an awesome vision!
People said that
@arbitrum
's usage was only from the airdrop and that it would fade after, and yet in May 2024, bridged eth has doubled to 1.7m+, and arb is still doing several billion in dex volume every week
I don’t do well with predictions so I’ll post my hopes for 2024
- we don’t elevate people solely because they make a lot of money in the bull
- developers maintain decentralization and security as a priority. we can’t expect users to
- we all recognize the whole is greater…
I’ve never felt more smol brain than trying to understand the mapping of all things on-chain
@arbitrum
governance.
Thank you devs for even trying to get me to understand haha.
@paulgebheim
@arbitrum
I’m not saying anyone should care that it is hard. I’m saying don’t accuse us of not trying and just sitting around with our hands in our pants.
Congratulations on this to the entire
@graphprotocol
community!
We are good incredibly excited to see this go into production and can’t wait to see what’s next!!

What happened this week in our industry is not going to deter me, and I assume most builders, from pushing forward.
My passion precisely stems from stopping this sort of opaque behavior from hurting people however I can.
This all just fuels the fire. Bent never broken.
Excited to see that Proof of Play is moving to its own

Bullish everything that

look, I own $AERO, I have to play the game.
but while $ARB is seen as the sleepy chain atm,
@CamelotDEX
still did $40MM+ more 24hr vol than $AERO , gives me the fees, and is 1/10th the marketcap. One day I will laugh looking back @ the gifts this market provides. It's why we…
Less than a month later Arbitrum bridge crosses 1.4m $ETH in liquidity. At today’s prices that more than $250m in liquidity available for developers and applications to tap into. Incredible growth and awesome to see.
Arbitrum One passed 1.3m $ETH in the bridge yesterday for the first time in history.
It’s where liquidity continues to migrate and be accessible for protocols and app developers to take advantage of.

I think it’s important to remember that using
@arbitrum
is using Ethereum.
Ethereum’s UX is a feature not a bug, and the Ethereum vision is developers and users move to rollups.
Still early days on the frontier and Arbitrum is still in beta but this is the future of Ethereum!
This weekend’s news has me feeling like Brad Pitt in The Big Short.
As much as I believe in Bitcoin I would much prefer the banking system and economy not fall apart.
Let’s not cheer rn crypto folks, it just makes us look worse in the eyes of…everyone.
If you were paying attention, today was monumental.

A bunch of random thoughts on this weekend in crypto:
1. A lot of people lost a lot of money they could not afford to lose. Stay compassionate.
2. CeFi and DeFi are not the same thing. Don't confuse them.
3. Unsustainable business models are impossible to maintain.
The real heroes of this week are the Arbitrum delegates and folks at the Foundation who worked tirelessly on trying to make the STIP process as smooth as possible.
I was disappointed by this tweet and the relevant components of the post. To me, it is intended to obfuscate the comparative technical maturity of the Arbitrum (and Starkware) rollup protocols in comparison to the current Optimism mainnet implementation.
There's an open secret about the decentralization of Layer 2's: whether or not they have fault or validity proofs is irrelevant if they're controlled by upgrade keys.
There, we said it. 🤷♀️
So what is a real viable path towards decentralization?
The Norweigan government testing platforming cap tables

Welcome to the

DeFi ecosystem! Your team has been market leaders in the Avalanche ecosystem and can't wait to see how your expanded journey unfolds.
DeFi builders on Arbitrum are extremely innovative and collaborative. I know you'll fit right in!
With the growing adoption of Arbitrum, the launch of multiple zkEVM rollups this week and so many other awesome developments, I’ve never been more excited about Ethereum’s rollup-centric roadmap.
The speculators that think 1) playing with the Stylus testnet, 2) trying out apps during the Odyssey or 3) the return of unclaimed airdrop funds to dao treasury are going to lead to an Arbitrum user airdrop really should take three minutes to learn about Arbitrum DAO governance.
To be abundantly clear, I have immense respect for
@0xMarcB
and the rest of the Polygon team. They’ve been at the forefront for enterprise adoption and building awesome zk tech for years.
Polygon was extremely transparent about their purchase of $10m worth of $Ape and to their…

I couldn’t find your article recommending banning the internet and email because it made the dissemination of child pornography easier. Can you link me to it? Also who goes through a US exchange to convert ransomware so what did you solve?
I’m trying to keep up but I think I’m out of my depth. How is the end of creator royalties a good thing for the industry?
Wasn’t this a huge value prop for why artists should embrace all that we are doing? Feels like entrenching the existing business models for artists now.
