Never forget, if you design a city for cars, it fails for everyone, including drivers. If you design a multi-modal city that makes walking, biking & public transit real options, it works better for everyone, including drivers. INCLUDING DRIVERS! The “war on cars” is a lie.

Whoever designed Bourke St in Mascot deserves two years of hard labour in Siberia. What should have been a pedestrian-friendly boulevard with thriving shops has instead become a pedestrian-hostile highway.

In a tightly coordinated 82-hour operation, crews jacked and winched the temporary arch into position with millimetres to spare. Once the structure was in place, the team completed a 1,941-tonne concrete pour to create the cavern's 2.5-metre-thick walls. https://t.co/1hBJKPrr0c

A young boy legally crossed a shared pedestrian and bicycle crossing on an e-bike and was struck by a driver, yet the police's core message is that children should be reminded of the road rules. The public is then urged to report unsafe e-bike use. Carbrain is a disease.

This brave HiLux warrior finally found a chance to put his rugged vehicle to good use when a pesky little truck had the nerve to cut in front of him. The damage to his car is just a bonus, as it clearly lets everyone know who's boss. On ya! https://t.co/R8baMKqPAu

Another day, another car that just decides to go rogue. Thoughts and prayers.
An out-of-control car has mounted a kerb, striking and killing a man walking down a Niddrie street. The 63-year-old driver then slammed through a busy medical centre into a room where a woman was injured in the middle of her consultation. @LauraTurner_7

Apparently, this is a thing: motorists thinking the Hornsby fountain is a bloody roundabout. Some people are just so incredibly dumb, and they're allowed to drive. https://t.co/OUZbSLB7rj

@nswpolice I will be forever grateful we’ve had a mayor in Sydney who’s actually had the guts to do something about it, and make the city a safer, more pleasant, and more accessible place for all. And I say all this as a car enthusiast.

@nswpolice don’t care either. At one pedestrian x-sing, with literally three cars blocking the way, there were two cops chit chatting. Zero fucks given. Not to mention the obnoxious honking and tailgating that often comes with it. Adults throwing tantrums in their metal boxes.

Walking through the city yesterday, literally every single pedestrian x-sing was blocked by at least one car. It’s extraordinary how little respect there is from motorists for pedestrians, and how we’ve come to a point where society seems to be accepting of this behaviour.
