It's that one night a year when I'm up late polishing veg for the village gardening show. These are the excellent varieties of Kestrel and Nadine, both bred by the legendary potato breeder Jack Dunnett. Doing OK despite the drought and heat.

There's a lot to digest, and so many complexities still to be decided, but plant breeders will welcome the commitment (Section 25) to work towards the movement of plants and plant products without the certificates and controls that have caused frustration and cost to plant

There are some important issues dominating the thoughts of all involved in agriculture and horticulture at the moment, and quite rightly so. But there are also so many positive stories to tell. #farming #foodwaste #defra
Shockingly, over a third of all food produced globally ends up as waste! BSPB's @ajh132 talks about the importance of plant breeding in reducing food waste. ๐ฅฆ
