Another reason to address growing attainment gap in HE. Education is not experienced the same for all. For many education is not just to improve individual chances, but a necessary route to support whole families. There is so much pressure, compounded by systemic exclusions.

Spaces that foster community, integration, wellbeing, mindfulness, connection&access are being eroded by successive governments. People sit at home scrolling,buying into narratives that outside shared spaces are unsafe. It is in encountering difference we find our similarities.

So many of us have had these acts of violence towards us to silence us. All receipts are kept.

Chilled family get together last week ahead of wedding season madness. One highlight was family presentations explaining what we do, our interests and goals. With almost 50 years age difference between our oldest and youngest presenters it really did bring everyone together!

I had locked down my account bc of excessive policing of my personal views. This resulted in a year of fear &negative impact on phsyical&mental health. But I reclaim my space&look forward to sharing when& what I can abt the realities of being a Muslim woman of colour in academia.

This is lovely to see. Recently we went on a family hike and our hijabi and niqabi members were made to feel incredibly uncomfortable through stares and inaudible mutterings. The countryside is for everyone. Obvs I asked some of the worst starers if they were enjoying the view. .
