Spoilers in this video — but this scene in 3D is remarkable for its camera interaction with the environment? Where does photography and CG hand off? The VFX supervisor told me it was a lot of back and forth, hard work.
James Cameron when asked about the status of ‘AVATAR 4’: “I’m gonna pose a metaphor to you: when a woman is in labour, she’s just crowning, would you ask her about her next child? Okay, I just delivered this thing”

Only … the VFX artists who completed this iconic scene got nothing close to that.
Jim Carrey was paid only $540,000 for his role in The Mask (1994). For context, that was a step up from the $350,000 he earned for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective earlier that same year, and he earned $7 million for Dumb and Dumber later in 1994...

RoboCop (1987) — Presented in a 35mm scan. Note that this trailer predates the final score by Basil Poledouris, using a temporary soundtrack [𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘪𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦] which significantly changes the film's atmosphere. I had never seen this before!🤖

I am of the opinion this is an homage to the first time James Cameron took Gale Anne Hurd out to the desert to learn firearms for Terminator.

Stephen Lang tells us about watching #AvatarFireAndAsh for the first time nearly a decade after filming. “It does take you back. I’ll see a scene and be like “Oh my gosh, I forgot this happened. When was this, 2017? I’ll be damned, we did a good job.” You know, things like that”

That’s the standout scene in the movie.
James Cameron says his editing team wanted to trim the tent scene with Quaritch and Varang in half when ‘AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH’ was being cut. “I said: ‘Guys, you’re about to become unemployed — put it back, every line.’” (via https://t.co/BcdyfCmCPr)

Listen to the master talk about the hard work it is to create VFX in movies with hundreds of artists ( humans !!! ) involved. It’s not a click of a button, it is the power of the mind and the vision shared by a community of artists that create these incredible images. #VFX #CGI
I watched “Avatar: Fire and Ash” in 3D IMAX. People often say, “God is in the details,” but truly seeing that philosophy carried through in the act of creation is not an easy thing to do. This film shows absolutely no compromise, right down to the finest details, in the

Haven’t stopped thinking about TERMINATOR 2’s crew tee shirt that has every single “zinger” James Cameron said during the course of production on the back of it, his gift to the crew. I want it. Wonder if they make one for #AvatarFireAndAsh
