On this National Day of Remembrance, we honour Shafilea Ahmed and all victims of honour-based violence. It has been 20 years since 17-year-old Shafilea’s tragic murder at the hands of her own parents, one of many incidences reflecting the cycle of violence against women and girls

Our Equality and Human Rights Fund has supported over 115,000 people in its first year. £8.1 million of grants were given to groups across Scotland that are tackling discrimination, furthering equality, and protecting human rights. Read ➡️

Today is #HumanRightsDay2022. 74 years since the Universal Declaration on #HumanRights was signed. Legally enforceable and universal rights remain the best way to secure freedom, dignity and respect. Yet they are under attack. It’s not “woke” to defend them, it’s being human.
