“There's only one person with the experience to do the job and unite the party - I would encourage John Swinney to stand."
SNP's Westminster leader
@StephenFlynnSNP
rules himself out as First Minister Humza Yousaf’s replacement.

Meanwhile from the cruelest of cruel WM governments this 👇
I’ve yet to hear the consciously cruel Labour Party condemn it. Westminster isn’t working for Scotland. 🏴
#ForScotland
#VoteSNP
I simply point out that in 17 years there have been three SNP FMs. Under the 10 years of Labour rule there were the same number. Nothing about this is actually a crisis, merely a reflection of Scotpol's addiction to drama.
I’ve struggled with my mental health all my life. I’m disappointed by the PM’s comments about mental health and work. It belittles individual’s personal pain by saying mental health is everyday challenges and worries. It won’t help anyone get or keep work.
We thank the First Minister for his compassionate leadership, and for his commitment & dedication to improving the lives of the people of Scotland.
We are also grateful for the support he has shown to us at the YSI, and wish him & Nadia well.
Thank you,
@HumzaYousaf
.
Stephen Flynn tells
@TheNewsAgents
he won't be standing for SNP leader- implores John Swinney to stand.
Says Kate Forbes (like himself) is too young and should stand aside.
Doesn't rule out standing in the future or Holyrood at the next Scottish general election...
John Swinney is the best choice to be Scotland’s First Minister &
@theSNP
leader. I will be strongly supporting him if, as I hope, he chooses to run. 🏴
He despairs of the situation in Scotland?
Is it the nationalised rail, the child payment, free prescriptions, free youth bus travel, subsidised childcare, free eye & dental tests, abolition of tuition fees, condemnation of genocide or is it the strike-free NHS?
#Change
As a young boy, born & raised in 🏴, I could never have dreamt that one day I would have the privilege of leading my country. People who looked like me were not in positions of political influence, let alone leading governments -

. See unit 4:
@HumzaYousaf
is a true
#Trailblazer
whose inspirational journey to becoming 🏴
@ScotGovFM
is a testament to his resilience &
#Diversity
in leadership. His story inspires minority communities across 🏴 & beyond that barriers can be overcome with determination.

I support the success of every student from a non-traditional background & the work of
@UniWestScotland
to drive widening access.
With 6 years to go to the 20% access goal, let’s listen to the stories of the
#40Faces
and learn from their experiences.
Very dignified, moving & personal statement from
@HumzaYousaf
this morning. He is recognised on the international stage for his leadership on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza when others have been mealy mouthed. I’ve no doubt he will continue to contribute to public life in 🏴
We are deeply concerned by reports of Home Office plans to detain people seeking asylum ahead of the implementation of removals to Rwanda.
Scotland has a long history of opposing shameful policies like these. We stand in solidarity with anyone affected
David Cameron now swanning about on a £42m private jet like he’s a bloody Kardashian…
And we’re paying for it.
No matter what side of the political spectrum you’re on, this should make your blood boil.
I am terribly sorry that the First Minster has decided to step down.
@HumzaYousaf
has been a pioneer, the first person of colour to hold office as First Minister.
