Seen these ads? This copycat company will slice off 35 percent of your tax rebate for acting ‘on your behalf’ - and take charge of your gov tax account, if you sign up. Make your own, direct claim; don’t be scammed, people - take care.

My daughter noticed that the word *disaster* must have been related to stars, like asterisk, asteroid ("resembles a star"), astronaut ("star sailor"), etc. We looked it up and discovered its origin in 16th century superstition. Thanks @LogicofEnglish.

Useful symbol with distance-learning students preferring to submit MS Office typed assingments. But, students, your teachers know when you’ve used the spell/grammar check in English work.

🤔 Ever wonder what this symbol (¶) is called? 🤷🏻‍♂️ It’s not “a backward P” or “the paragraph thingy”; it’s a *pilcrow*.

Delta DID ‘flatten the grass’, emails show https://t.co/zjgYbJ87Qq #Schoolsweek via @Schoolsweek. Ok, that’s enough: we’ve had ‘leaking buckets’ & some accused of ‘flattening the grass’. Such implicit use of English lexicon!

Harris schools swamp ESOL exam with native English speakers https://t.co/7ezMDmrYu6 #Schoolsweek via @Schoolsweek. Schools’ leaking buckets. Nothing new here whilst tables, funding and Ofsted dominate above learning.

Great, practical resource. Use to enlighten uninformed parents/carers about SSP - hear phonemes with example words. Thanks to LoE.

Hey teachers! This is a powerful video where teachers describe what they didn't know about reading and how learning about the reading science changed things for them and their students.
