great overview of the whole royalties situation new incentive models are needed
❓Why are royalties not enforceable on-chain? Most NFTs on ethereum are built either on the standard ERC721 or ERC1155 When transferring an NFT, it's always the same "action" that happens in those standards: "please change the owner of the NFT id X from 0x123.. to 0xabc..."

2/ Having that said, I don't favor methods that restrict transfers. I write my own contracts and will never do that. While I support artists' choice (see 1), I don't think it's the right choice, and I certainly do not support platforms coercing artists into making that choice.

this is the way, opensea forcing creators to implement some code to blacklist competitors is below the line. that aside, very cool project dropping this friday, lets go.
UPDATE: the release of @brachlandberlin's Straylight Protocol is this Friday, December 2nd 19:00 UTC on Ethereum and @optimismFND updated edition/pricing info + why we ended up delaying release at the last minute 👇

Grateful for having worked early with artists who later reached new heights. And thanks @CyphrETH for the support along the way.
Gen art meta? Priced out of early AB curated? Buy low supply @EthBlockArt collections. Same artists, often smaller runs & many preceded their AB equivalents.

Thumbnails on BlockArt NFTs are generated client-side by the minter and are stored on IPFS directly with no servers in between, this means that sometimes there are hiccups. The good news is we have an edit feature for holders that makes it easy to re-generate them anytime :)
Gm Great to see @emilyxxie's Morphology being rediscovered.❤️ FYI some of the mints have a blank thumbnail, and this can only be fixed (quite easily) by the NFT holder, DM us if you need assistance. And yes, it's been quiet around here but stay tuned for an update soon!👀

Many creators use blockchains today in various ways, while very few observe and celebrate them as part of their work, turning a mirror towards them. @takenstheorem is to me one of the best examples, an inspiration, you dropped this 👑
.@EthBlockArt is special -- visuals tied to block statistics... for ex. @NadiehBremer's amazing Wanderlust can amplify or dampen different on-chain numerics, like transaction count or value Beautiful fusion of data and aesthetics Echoes of block history

When a company culture accepts DRIs as the way to work, and DRIs are often individual contributors, the product-making process becomes decoupled from the org chart. This can be a very good thing. 1/
I’ve tweeted about this before, but when we made the original iPhone, we didn’t have product managers. We had directly responsible individuals (DRIs). Each important piece of work had a single person charged with seeing to it that the work got done. 1/

Some thoughts on #StableDiffusion vs #DALLE2 vs #midjourney They are actually all different (complementary?). First this whole field was catalysed by @OpenAI releasing CLIP publicly last year (!) which @RiversHaveWings, @advadnoun and others built on
openai.com
We’re introducing a neural network called CLIP which efficiently learns visual concepts from natural language supervision. CLIP can be applied to any visual classification benchmark by simply...

The true unique proposition of this "web3" stuff is owner-less, governance-less, token-less, immutable, immortal protocols read write unowned But that ain't gonna pump any bags, so we'll revert to mediocre, ponzified clones of web2
