This holds across multiple RCTs and mechanistic reviews, with carbs consistently 2-3x more insulinogenic isocalorically

Protein triggers less insulin than carbs mainly because glucose directly closes beta-cell KATP channels via rapid ATP rise, while amino acids rely on slower, less potent pathways

Per gram, carbs (4 kcal/g) win again, but protein (4 kcal/g) closes gap slightly vs. fat (9 kcal/g). E.g., 25g protein raises insulin less than 25g carb, while 25g fat does little. Insulin index protein foods score 40-60% of carb-rich equivalents despite similar energy

Carbs - highest insulin response per kcal due to rapid blood glucose rise. Protein induces moderate secretion via amino acids like leucine, but ~1/3 to 1/2 the potency of carbs isocalorically. Fat barely stimulates insulin directly, mainly delaying carb absorption when mixed

Fiber helps—but more isn’t always better. ( U shared curve ) Aim ~14 g/1,000 kcal, mainly from whole foods. Higher than normal intake or rapid increases can cause bloating, gas, or stool issues. Supplements help bowel habits, but don’t replace whole-food benefits.

I don't know who needs to hear this but guys please stop having excessive fibre in your diet. Excess fibre will keep you bloated, gassy and uncomfortable all the time. If you eat roti, dal, veggies, fruits every day, you are already getting desired fibre in your diet.

Why herd immunity for rabies isn’t there yet (for India) ? Rabies has a low R0 (1-2), so critical coverage is 20-45% to block transmission. Annual campaigns must target 70% or higher to counter high rates of stray dog turnover. Below this, outbreaks persist (per NAPRE )

💯 Even if correlation were causation (it isn’t), human flaws don’t void institutional duty—because systems exist to outgrow our weaknesses, not to hide behind them.

I speak against alcohol a lot. I am a former drunkard and I totally understand how alcohol ruins your life and risk your life. But, even if the Noida accident victim was drunk. It makes zero sense to blame things on his alcoholism for what delays happened from the authority's

Protein can also worsen insulin resistance: long-term + very high animal protein/BCAA patterns+overfeeding. Data links animal protein to higher T2D risk; mechanisms include chronic amino acids → mTOR/S6K1 → impaired insulin signaling. Context matters. https://t.co/4PhrMVwmW7

Why higher protein can IMPROVE insulin resistance: preserves muscle (major glucose sink), reduces liver fat, increases satiety, lowers carbs. In a 6mo RCT, a higher-protein hypocaloric diet improved insulin sensitivity vs higher-carb at similar weight loss https://t.co/tPysNxbT1y

Protein can spike insulin after meals, but that≠chronic hyperinsulinemia or insulin resistance. When protein replaces refined carbs without overeating, insulin sensitivity improves. But very high, chronic animal/BCAA-heavy protein + excess calories can worsen insulin resistance

If throwing money at problems actually solved them, governments would’ve accidentally fixed everything by now just from sheer volume.

Total global government spending in 2024 is approximately $42 trillion USD. Elon's net worth is 1% of that. If Elon's net worth would solve all these problems, why haven't the world's governments solved them already? Don't tell me governments are good for society.

A similar thing happening in @amazonIN Prime subscription. To think that fire tv OS will pull me towards PRIME but NO the app is horrible plus the intrusive ads. I no longer want to open prime. Even considering opting out and paying for delivery

An observation for @JioHotstar, and for the team that manages conversion strategy for premium subscriptions, ads every 20 mins or so during movies aren't converting users to opt for an ad-free tier, it's actually driving them away, in my opinion. I understand the goal is to

Thought so too. Simple tunnel math ain’t enough. Keep a cm more in femur and 1.5 to 2 in tibia to prevent bottoming out. Or maybe just drill antegrade?

I was shocked to the core when I heard about the brutal rape and murder of Moumita Debnath - a 31 year old doctor in Kolkata. Even in her place of work she was not safe. 💔 In Birmingham tonight we demand #JusticeForMoumita - in a small way we show that the world is watching
