My heart is broken. BSC is an incredible place that changed my life and the lives of so many others. I wouldn’t be the scientist or person I am today without this school. I found my best friends, I found research, I found sisterhood. Forward, Ever, thank you for everything BSC.

My Denver library card afforded me access to Libby, and it has been a total game changer! This year I listened to 51 books, I haven’t consumed this much literature since I was reading for AR points in elementary school. Seriously, get a library card!
this is a friendly reminder that library cards are free and your local public library will never make you pay extra so you don’t have to watch ads.

Thank you eLife for sharing these stories. My ADHD and my scientific experience are intricately linked, and this story resonates deeply. I’m thankful more stories like this of neurodivergence in academia will be shared.

I would also like to add the hyperactivity does NOT mean having a lot of energy. Especially in women it can looks like talking a lot, constantly bouncing legs, or needing to fidget with small things. It can also be racing thoughts and anxiety.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but ADHD does NOT mean you are hyperactive. While some ADHDers are hyperactive, there’s a whole other presentation of ADHD called Predominantly Inattentive, which is more common in women and doesn’t look hyperactive at all.
