Jhon Duran is such a weird one here. He was flying at Villa. He’s playing in the Prem for a team in the Champions League. Now he’s at Fenerbahce where basically every player in the league is either on the brink of retirement or trying to play their way TO the Prem.

Obviously eventually you’d imagine the Saudis want their league titles to carry the same weight as a Bundesliga or something. But right now, you could have 20 of them and it wouldn’t be worth a single one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Is it that some players think the money will make it worth playing in a terrible league with zero pedigree… and then they get there and realise it’s a shite existence and a waste of their talent, so they immediately request to move on?. Is that what he’s done? Like Henderson?.

to create a league that essentially competes with or eventually replaces UEFA’s dominant competitions. It makes sense to spend big in that sense, but surely only if they actually keep the talented players they sign. What’s the point of this Jhon Duran transfer? Or….

Can someone explain to me what’s happening with Saudi football? Because I don’t understand. Why are they paying tens of millions to sign players and giving them mental money and then just letting them go months later? . My understanding is that they are trying….
