California GDP increased 4.9% last year. Mind boggling number for a developed economy, let alone one that is 5th largest in the world. πŸš€πŸ”₯πŸ’―

I can't find the citation for the 4.9% number that Bloomberg quotes. The BEA puts California at 3.0% for real GDP growth for 2017. Still impressive, but not eye-popping.

@adamnash @lorakolodny All impressive, but it's not equitable growth. Many urban communities are being devastated by "prosperity." Reason to be proud, but let's not get too smug, golden state.

@m2jr It’s a mistake to look at these results as the product of current politics. It was the culture and governance of decades past that gave us Silicon Valley & Hollywood, and built a state out of immigrants from all over the country & al over the world.
