The Senate bill would cut federal #Medicaid spending by $1 trillion over 10 years, per CBO. Provisions that only apply to ACA expansion states account for $526 billion of the federal spending reductions. Our analysis estimates the effects on states: https://t.co/VXkM2xuYGj

Great piece from @lbblackford about how terrifying the cuts to Medicaid are for the people who use it to see a doctor and take needed medicines. There is a real, emotional, physical, human toll that these funding cuts will take. https://t.co/iKUpwJolgr

In 2015, the year before Louisiana expanded Medicaid, the uninsured rate among working-age adults in East Carroll Parish was nearly 35%. By 2021, that number was 12.7%. “Why are we going back?” provider Jennifer Newton asked. “We’ve made so much progress.”

There's a lot of focus on what Medicaid and ACA cuts would mean for hospitals, because hospitals have lobbyists. That doesn't negate what the cuts would mean for people, with about 12 million people projected to become uninsured due to the megabill.

🔴 Today the Senate passed a bill that could strip coverage from 670,000 North Carolinians and end our state’s SNAP program. Tell the House: Reject Medicaid & SNAP cuts. Act now: https://t.co/JZ5a3WRJ2P #ProtectNCMedicaid #SaveSNAP

Tillis: “I cannot support this bill in its current form. It would result in tens of billions of dollars in lost funding for North Carolina, including our hospitals and rural communities. This will force the state to make painful decisions like eliminating Medicaid coverage”

Proposed cuts to Medicaid would crush small and rural hospitals and make it harder for people to get the care they need. North Carolina can’t afford this.

Raleigh's Little Blue Bakehouse is an anchor of the community, serving not only sweets but opportunity for early-stage food entrepreneurs. I stopped by to discuss cuts to nutrition assistance and how reckless tariffs are harming their businesses.

This so-called “big, beautiful bill” is anything but. From cutting Medicaid and leaving millions without health care to SNAP cuts, which will cause more hunger, this bill will hurt Americans – not help them. I believe in putting our people first. Leaders in D.C. should too.
