In my first 7 months as an indie dev (2016), my app made $0.29. Not $29. Twenty-nine cents. I didn’t quit. I learned ASO, studied stores, kept shipping. Today it pays my bills. Start ugly. Don’t stop.

I changed my Play Store developer name after 10 years. Revenue tanked for a month. Switched it back, sales recovered. Lesson for indie devs: your dev name IS your reputation signal. Don’t touch it casually. 💀📉 #IndieDev #AndroidDev #ASO

AWS sneezed, our payments caught a cold. RevenueCat + AWS outage = no paywall loading. Lesson: third-party SDKs shift risk, not remove it. Add fallbacks, reduce single points of failure, and plan for “when, not if.” 🚑💳

Lesson learned: Don’t over-experiment on the product that pays. I tweaked name/icon for an organic boost—revenue slid for 2 years. Test on new apps, ship to the cash-cow only after proof. #IndieDev #buildinpublic

War does hit indie devs. Our biggest market fell under sanctions → ad networks stopped serving → free option broke → ratings dropped. We finally had to pull the app from a 100M+ user market. Waiting for peace.

Easy buttons cost real users. Our “remote settings” shortcut worked—until >5% hit “settings didn’t load.” Do this instead: • Wait 1–2s after cold start • Don’t depend on one vendor • Secure keys with your own fallback Getting users is hard. Losing them is easy.

Today’s learning: Nano Banana style transfer only behaves when both images match aspect ratio + pose + eye/face position. After a full day of tests, I’m pausing style transfer for now. Onward. 🙃

My observation: Mental stability = staying extremely busy with work you love ( irrespective of the +ve outcome) = meditation If I miss a day at work, my mental stability starts to dip.
