Had a call today and landed a speaking engagement. It came inbound because she thought I lived in Kentucky, I live in Los Angeles. This has been one of the secrets of how I win business that I’ve never talked about: Should I create a post about it?

Yesterday I turned down a prospect on a call who was ready to close. I knew it wasn’t a fit and I wouldn’t enjoy working with them. You need to be comfortable turning down people you don’t want to work with. Otherwise you’ll be miserable.

Q1 was filled with a lot of ups and downs, My biggest win though is I started building a SaaS. I’ve already implemented it for myself which is how I know it works. It’s going to be a game changer for so many people and I can’t wait to share more in a few weeks.

The hard truth is you’re not where you want to be because you’re not working hard enough or not working smart enough. Most of the time it’s both.

Pro tip to podcasters. If you invite someone on, the first call should be the podcast. Don’t expect someone you want to come on your podcast to also commit to a pre and post podcast call. If you want this it’s an immediate no. If we click on the podcast happy to stay
