D.C restaurant workers (and I speak as someone who was one) do NOT want I-82 repealed. What they want, is for owners to stop gouging customers to maintain their profit margins, and blaming their staff for the price increases. #tippedworkers deserve better.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with restaurant workers and owners to hear directly how I-82 is affecting the DC restaurant industry. Their message remains clear: We must repeal I-82.

As with every #GOP budget, when packaged with secondary incentives and credits, the top one percent of the country's wealthiest got the most out of the #BigBeautifulBill. Every single #Democrat voted against making the rich, richer.
Thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill, Americans making less than $50,000 will get the largest percentage tax break of anyone in the country. Every single Democrat voted against making working Americans more prosperous.

Curfews are an inadequate and ineffective remedy to youth behavioral issues, and places our city's young people into dangerous contact with law enforcement ill equipped to properly handle the matter. #DowntownDC needs proper policy in place to combat this issue, and quick.
I just signed into law a temporary expansion of the youth curfew—11PM across DC and 8PM in designated zones. I look forward to continuing to work with the @councilofdc to prioritize the safety of our city and the well-being of our young people.

When Democrats assault our brave law enforcement officers with their actions and rhetoric it encourages unstable people to go even further. We call on every elected official to insist that law enforcement MUST be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

This is what pundits on the far-right are letting consume their air time - racist tropes about culture. Not our grocery prices, not our schools, not our ability to care for our families. They are not serious people, and they do not belong at the helm of any level of government.
I did not grow up eating rice with my hands and have always used a fork. I was born in America. I’m a Christian MAGA patriot. My father’s extended family lives in India and they are also Christian and they use forks too. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
