Incredible episode of #Pluribus. The whole Bond-style casino sequence - fabulous. Lovely understated performance from Samba Schutte. HDP? Sure it's not ideal but folks gotta eat. And then the suspense of the creepy Paraguay segment. Really top stuff.

There has been a most British story in Tunbridge Wells over the last week. Last weekend, the entire town had its running water shut off. We were told a bad batch of chemicals had been delivered to the water treatment facility and there would be no water for a few hours while a

'DON'T DRINK THE WATER!' says South East Water's head of water quality. Also, note the smirking refusal to answer two questions towards the end of the video.
Neil Hudson, head of water quality at South East Water, has spoken to BBC South East's environment correspondent Fiona Irving about the current situation in Tunbridge Wells. More here: https://t.co/E4EKXMdaiJ

@LeaderofKCC @TWellsCouncil @sewateruk Please do not try to claim any sort of credit for this. @ThreshedThought has led throughout and has been exemplary. Talk about jumping on the bandwagon.

The team at BBC South East have now heard from South East Water. In response to a request for an interview with the CEO Dave Hinton they say: "We are unable to accommodate your interview request at this time."

When @sewateruk says don’t drink the water without boiling it, it’s a bit more that that. It’s actually not really suitable for washing dishes, babies, feeding pets, or anyone with a wound or medical condition. They probably need to, er, tell more people this. @ThreshedThought

Where's the elusive Dave Hinton, the Scarlet Pimpernel of the water industry? They seek him here, they seek him there ...
I've been at South East Water HQ since the very early hours of this morning looking to speak to the CEO Dave Hinton. So far no signs of him. No replies to requests for an interview Instead his comms team tell me there will be no comment just "our focus is on restoring water"

@ThreshedThought If pumping starts at noon, how many days do we wait for dirty water?

Hands up anyone who really believes there'll be non-drinkable running water in Tunbridge Wells at midday. My money's on nope.

As of this morning, my mother, 88, has had no running water for five days. She’s not in Kiev or Darfur - but Tunbridge Wells. The infrastructure in this country is a fucking disaster

Starting to wonder if there shouldn't be arrests at South East Water let alone resignations. #R4Today

Sky's Olivia Guthrie reports live from Tunbridge Wells where thousands of residents still remain without water after four days, following a 'chemical issue'. South East Water gave no indication of when water supplies would be fully restored to the area. https://t.co/gSLurlqWN3

How did Tunbridge Wells become the spa town that ran dry? | Neil Armstrong (@_neilarmstrong) https://t.co/QTw4hcDuWX

Without running water, the Kent town is unable to flush its loos or have a shower, and its famously ‘disgusted’ residents are fast becoming ‘disgusting’. The episode should shame all of our greedy...

There's a South East Water head of communications! Incredible! Who knew? What the hell does he do? I looked Rob Crumbie up on LinkedIn. He says he’s ‘consistently delivered against challenging objectives driving sustainable behaviour change’. Really made me laugh a lot.
@george_barnes @ThreshedThought I spoke to their Head of Comms, Rob Crumbie after the outages in 2022. As a former Comms man I wasn’t impressed, I suspected we both wound each other up tbh, but there was nothing in our conversation that reassured me that they had any sort of emergency comms strategy in place.
