There is some concern that because SEW doesn't explicitly say Dave Hinton will attend that a proxy might be used. I've asked SEW directly if their CEO will attend the EFRA committee. Some say that due to lack of trust in SEW comms over the past week, they must be clear on this

NEW: Dave Hinton CEO of South East Water will attend the EFRA parliamentary committee to give evidence over water outages in Tunbridge Wells. Statement from South East Water below:
I've approached South East Water to ask if Mr Hinton will be accepting the committee request to appear. BBC South East approached SEW for an interview with Mr Hinton today, but we're told he is still not available.

Committee memeber for Environment in Parliament adds pressure to South East Water boss Dave Hinton saying "he should do his job or resign" It comes following several attempts by the BBC to speak to the CEO about water outages in Tunbridge Wells.
This is exactly the kind of cowardly, accountability-dodging behaviour we saw from Susan Davy before she resigned as CEO of South West Water 😒 These water bosses take eye-watering pay packets and then scarper when something goes wrong. Dave Hinton needs to do his job or resign

No water no joke. But if anyone is like a dog with a bone and will keep chasing for answers it’s @michaelkeohan
I've spent the day trying to find the boss of South East Water Dave Hinton. There was no sign of him at HQ, and he didn't return my phone calls or emails to the press office. South East Water instead say, "The focus is on restoring water"

I've been at South East Water HQ since the very early hours of this morning looking to speak to the CEO Dave Hinton. So far no signs of him. No replies to requests for an interview Instead his comms team tell me there will be no comment just "our focus is on restoring water"

This is quite remarkable! After the Tunbridge Wells MP exclusively told BBC South East the South East Water boss has to go over water outtage - The CEO phones the MP to "Rant" SEW say the focus is on restoring water.
Dave Hinton rang me up last night and ranted at me whining that I was holding him accountable. Utterly pathetic performance from someone so highly paid. I am reaching out to the Minister for Water today.

MP for Tunbridge Wells tells BBC South East they boss of South East Water must resign and he won't rest until he does, after tens of thousands are left without water and the restart for many supplies pushed back.
I’ve been onsite this morning and have other Lib Dems checking on the other water distribution sites. All three sites are operating and have water.

What's fascinating about this budget is it's being delivered in the commons, but due to the OBR publishing early it's already being pulled apart on socials before the Chancellor can even get to delivering it.
