It’s not easy to find statements from and endorsements of many of the candidates at these levels, but it’s a lot easier to do from home than hurriedly on a phone at the poling site. If you are here in NYC, https://t.co/KH6w7yAeBq makes it easy to see who is on your ballot.

On the cusp of the new year, it seems like the perfect time to share this public art proposal I made in collaboration with @jameslucas, whom I connected with thanks to @longnow. You can read a bit of our proposal here: https://t.co/qJYvyVbmAn

I’m supporting @JulieMenin because as Census Director she helped NYC receive billions in funding so we don't get left behind by the federal government. #MeninforCouncil
I’m running for City Council! My family has seen New York’s promise since my mother survived the Holocaust and settled in Yorkville. And I’m clear-eyed about the challenges that lie ahead and ready to be part of the solutions.

Great news! We continue to count ... for now ... with deadline of 10/31 for Census Operations. Meanwhile we need Congress to #SavetheCensus and extend statutory reporting deadlines accordingly! #2020Census #GetNYCounted.
BREAKING: An appeals court has rejected another Trump administration attempt to end #2020Census counting before Oct. 31. From a 3-judge panel of the 9th Circuit: https://t.co/YSpAQnsCQo

Once again, what we do know is that the counting continues -- FOR NOW. At a minimum, Census counting operations continue until the 9th Circuit's ruling -- which takes possibly through 3 pm ET -- and maybe beyond...
UPDATE: A 9th Circuit ruling on the Trump administration's current request to set aside the court order that's extended #2020Census counting through Oct. 31 is expected by noon PT on Oct. 7, according to this court order.

While we don't currently know when the counting will end, what we do know is we have to make every minute we have count in counting everyone!

Thread time. Why, you might ask, is the Trump Campaign (and yes the entire GOP is just the Trump Campaign now) willing to risk prison time defying a federal judge just to stop a census a month early? Great question. Here's the answer 1/

BREAKING: A federal judge in California orders #2020Census counting to be extended through Oct. 31 nationwide, blocking the Trump administration’s plan to end early. The admin is expected to appeal, further complicating what could be the count’s final days https://t.co/0aJXtEOl28

The Trump administration made last-minute changes that shortened the 2020 census schedule. A federal judge suspends Sept. 30 as the end date for counting. Now the administration is appealing.

Congress MUST step in to #SaveTheCensus by pushing back reporting deadlines to give the bureau sufficient time to finish counting operations, data processing, and quality checks thoroughly. Otherwise, the loss to all states & communities for the next decade will be incalculable.

The new @CommerceOIG report confirms what we already knew: political appointees, not expert @uscensusbureau staff, made the decision to rush the rest of the #2020Census. The risk of an incomplete and inaccurate census has gone up, according to the IG:
