I’ve been creating content for 3+ years - and these are 5 techniques I will always come back to. Not because they’re trendy. But because they work. Every single time. I didn’t learn them from a course or a guru. I learned them by trial. Error. And watching hundreds of videos

Most videos lose viewers because they stop earning their attention. Here’s how to hold it - 3 seconds at a time: → Angle changes - a new frame = a new hook. Keep the screen moving to keep the brain alert. → Storytelling flow - every line should lead to a new question or

Note to self: Just post the content. This was just me reeling off to the camera. Wanna start doing more of this. LFG.

Good lighting doesn’t need to cost £500. But bad lighting? That could cost you attention. I got my setup for under £50 - here’s how I do it: → Face a light (window or ring light). Bright subject = clean, pro look → Add a light off to the side. Shadows = depth → Use a

Viral content is rarely accidental anymore. And trust me - I used to hope it was. I’d spend hours filming, editing, rewriting… all for videos that barely made a dent. It felt random. Discouraging. Like I was missing something obvious. But the turning point? Realising that

When I first started creating content, I thought it was all about what I said. But the truth? It’s just as much about how it looks, how it sounds, and how it moves. Once I started paying attention to the visual language of content - my retention rates changed overnight.

It’s no secret anymore: 1-shot ads work. No cuts. No edits. Just one continuous moment. I tested it with a POV-style Surreal ad - and it crushed. Here’s why: → It felt raw, unrehearsed, human → No polish = no illusion break → It looked like real phone content It didn’t

This is only the 2nd video I’ve made for my personal brand. But for the past 3 years, I’ve been behind the scenes - creating UGC and organic content for other brands. And the biggest thing I’ve learned? How to come up with content ideas fast. Because most ideas don’t come out

Final thoughts:
Viral videos aren’t built on inspiration.
 They’re built on execution systems.
 Here’s the formula that works:
→ Visual hook → Format variation → Story-driven message → Intentional repetition → Real-time feedback loop
 You don’t need better ideas.

5 - Comment Mining (Real-time market research)
Before the next post, scroll the last one:
→ What confused people? → What did they want more of? → What responses got the most likes?
Every great content system includes this loop. Your comments are your next content

4 - Repetition with Intention (Scale what hits)
The viral video is almost never the first version.
It’s the 4th, 5th, or 7th spin on a working format.
Here’s what top creators do:
→ Keep the hook structure → Reframe the angle → Retell the story from a new lens → Post

3 - Narrative Layering (Add story, don’t just give tips)
Most people deliver tips. Viral creators deliver transformation.
They use micro-stories to frame their message:
→ “Here’s what I used to believe…” → “This one moment changed everything…” → “I almost gave up -

2 - Structured Format Rotation (Keep content feeling new)
Viral creators don’t post one way.
They rotate formats like a playlist.
Use these 3 as your foundation:
→ Face-to-cam: fast-paced, personal, opinion-led → Prop or explainer: use something physical to demonstrate

1 - Visual Hooks (Stop the scroll)
The first 2 seconds make or break your video.
Top creators all do something visual that disrupts the feed:
→ Fast zoom, swipe, or snap to signal movement → Hand gestures or pointing to invisible elements → Typing text synced to voice

I studied 100s of viral videos from top creators across niches.
And here's the truth no one's talking about: It’s not the idea that goes viral. It’s the execution system behind it.
Here’s the full breakdown of how viral content is actually built 🧵:

3. Focus on thumbnails. The presentation of a TikTok account is often overlooked, yet so important. Make it: - Aesthetic and vibrant - Show the product and brand clearly Captions can really help with this too. Example:

2. Use numbers/statistics in the hook. For example: “2 new products from X” “My top 3…” “5 ways that you can…” Numbers convey a clear message and attract way more viewers.

1. Multiple hooks per video. It may not always be possible, but when you can, keep each segment of the video as engaging as the last. This tweet from @alexgoughcooper explains it perfectly:

The best ads don't just have one hook, they have multiple. This is the first 4 lines of a Magic Spoon ad. Notice how every one of them could be used as a hook. Multiple hooks = grips the scroller, they feel like they can't stop watching
