Alternatively this is a total conspiracy theory! Maybe this was just a tweet G fired off without thought, but I imagine there's a bit more thought behind something that would alienate a metric ton of employees at the company.

I expect it from Apple, who has a target on their back the size of the moon. But Vercel is not Apple. Vercel is, at best, either collateral damage of policies that may be put in for AI, or the future of the Government's web development platform. Taking an offensive stance like.

The only way this Tweet makes sense is if Vercel is trying to (either) make a play for AI deregulation or getting government contracts for AI-powered development. Anything else would be harmful to the community-oriented brand. which they staunchly protect.

Feels a little bit like swapping video streaming platforms because the content you want to watch is elsewhere. It’s nothing personal, and I still enjoy parts of the platform here, but I’m just more entertained scrolling through better content.
