Missouri has been a test state for so many things that happen in other states and the nation. We get new bills that adjust the acceptability window and new strategies. Pay attention, everyone!

.@RiverfrontTimes was a wonderful newspaper that had dedicated reporters. The talents of @sarahfenske, @KallieECox, @RyanWKrull & many others I worked with over the past 10 years are what made this hometown newspaper incredible. This is devastating. https://t.co/jRKsOjULKR

The RFT's top editorial staffer said she was made "absolutely heartsick" by the news.

He’s all for the Missouri Human Rights Act now but not when we are talking about protecting LGBTQ+ Missourians from discrimination. 🙄🤡

Here, I fixed it: Missourians have had enough… of you, AG.

Look beyond your industry for inspiration. I’ve worked in government, nonprofit, celebrity fashion, music… the one thing I learned from all of it is each industry can teach the other new things. You just have to have the courage to think outside the box — that there is no box.
🚨SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGERS: What's your best advice for people who are working in an unsexy or "boring" industry when it comes to social media management? (Responses may or may not be included in a post for GPM or in my newsletter, full credit and links where possible will be

Since joining PROMO, it’s been extremely interesting to see what reporters I used to work with regularly do simple acts of allyship to the LGBTQ+ community like the wonderful @MichelleLiTV and which ones are consumed by misinformation and false narratives like @MarkReardonKFTK.
Not sure why I became the target today, but I wish him the best. I don’t understand how using an identifier is worthy of the vitriol I’m receiving, esp bc my post was about weather. As a woman, a mom, I want to exercise kindness. Bless all your hearts.

Particularly useful for any of my travel and food PR friends as well! Check them now and check them often as they can change.
PR pros: quick reminder to look at editorial calendars for opportunities for your clients. Found two opportunities for a client yesterday by simply checking in with editors re: what was listed on their ed cals. Works well with trade press. #PRTips

“Breaking”… you know what’s breaking? Our education system where schools are on 4-day weeks, where teacher pay is outlandishly low, and children cannot read at their grade level. But sure, let’s worry about schools who are trying to give opportunities to students and employees.

My partner and I are looking for new apartments, and one of my favorite questions to ask is always “What does the pet rent go towards?” It stumps them every time, particularly if they are already charging a pet deposit that’s between $300-$500.

“We need to protect kids” and yet…
Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher on Thursday largely refused to answer questions about the state’s lax gun laws and abruptly ended a news conference after he was asked repeatedly about yesterday's shooting in Kansas City. #moleg

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first time any one is hearing about an officer apology. You may think you've "commented a lot" on this, Chief, but you've provided no answers. You're worried about the court of law, but you're losing in the court of public opinion.

He forgot to add, “…unless you don’t believe in what I believe. Then I will co-parent with you on healthcare access, curriculum taught in schools, and allowing discrimination against LGBTQ+ students.”

I love when press come with receipts 👏
Mayor Tishaura Jones announced Robert Tracy would be the first ever police chief hired from outside St. Louis one year ago. The first words out of his mouth when reporters started asking him questions: “My core values is about transparency.” Still hasn’t faced press this week.

This is the definition on inequity, Black history is part of all of our history and we cannot learn to do better as a society unless we have that knowledge. The FHSB continues to put children’s futures in danger.
The all-white Francis Howell School Board voted Thursday to eliminate the elective courses Black History and Black Literature from the district’s three high schools. The vote was 5-2. https://t.co/81J0zBFRGx

Never been this close to a live fire before. Huge shoutout to the fast reaction time of @STLFireDept tonight who contained it to just this detached garage.
