Ask any athlete or someone around athletics “how much of sport is mental?” And you get answers typically between “75-90%.” Ironic then that teams/colleges/athletes invest closer to less than 5-10% of time or budget on training what they claim is so important. 🤔

I love this. Everyone should step back and have a better perspective on sports, athletes, and what really matters in their own lives. A quote I remember from @ColinCowherd years ago always stuck with me: “love your life, like your sports.”
WATCH: Nick Saban goes OFF during a pre-Thanksgiving rant directed at “self-absorbed” #Alabama fans that can’t appreciate what they have after a ques. about not blowing teams out. (This came during his weekly “The Nick Saban Show,” 🎥 courtesy of @UA_Athletics’ live stream.)

I miss those moments in a team room, chatting in the field, or making you do crazy stuff to flex your brain. Thank you to all the veterans out there! For the obvious sacrifices you make, but for also making those around you and your communities better.

I can 100% say I wouldn’t be the man I am today w/out the influence that countless folks in uniform had on me. Any success I may have is due in large part to them challenging me, and making me become better.

Btw-the ‘Chun-Ji’ & ‘Dang-gun’ are her 2 katas she needs to know for her next belt test. The perf psych in me couldn’t resist as I had designed it for her to practice them when she was a bit out of breath and tired. She loved every bit of this. 2/2

Lessons from a 7yo. Celebrate yourself. We should all be drawing fireworks & DONE when we finish things like workouts. 1/2

Always a tough day for so many. Celebrate their lives. Listen to their loved ones share a story. Maybe even take a moment to read about them if you’re not sure where to start. Enjoy your day, that’s what they would have wanted. But remember why we have this day. #memorialday
