The answer is simple
I can't wrap my head around the fact that there's a movie nominated for International, Screenplay, Directing, Picture and four(!) in Acting, and it's just been in the background the entire season as a complete non-threat.

The whole point of Gaga when she started doing jazz with Tony was to prove that she can do very classically classic Jazz and wasn’t just a pop star. she didn’t push the boundaries of jazz she was doing the doing opposite and was pushing herself inside those boundaries
Bjork is only considered avant garde because she mostly makes sounds, not actual songs that requires musicianship…Gaga has actually pushed the boundaries of what pop, jazz, fashion and performance art is, which makes her a true avant garde artist who’s ahead of her time
