pOILievre has removal of the ban on supertankers on the BC Coast at the top of his list. It's been in effect for 55 years. I organized the 1st demonstration against supertankers in 1968. The BC NDP banned supertankers in 1972 supported by the feds & later Bill C-69. Stop PP!

Snapshot of our times? #10 is pretty interesting in the context of #1 and #2. I read #10. It's really about critical thinking, except they call that "disagreeableness" in corporate personality-test-speak. Weren't those who went along with Nazism the "nice" ones?

Good turn out today in support of keeping Vancouver Aquatic Centre at 50 meters. On signs: “You wouldn't train in half a (basketball) court. So why train in half a pool?” "Big cities need big pools" "Bigger is Better!" #vanpoli #VACpool50m

Good turn out today in support of keeping VAC at 50m. My favourite sign was “you don’t play a basketball game on a half court”

RENTAL>CONDO perverse given efforts by City/Province to support rental development. These are large units 65% 2-3-bed suitable for families, valuable as longterm rental. Staff report omitted important information that might have led Council to consider denying the application.

The draft Broadway Plan required a lot with a minimum 150 ft. frontage & under those rules 10 E11th Ave would not be eligible for a tower. Video clip shows staff first first arguing for 150 ft frontages, and later supporting SKY's 99ft frontage amendment

A tower rezoning at 10 East 11th Avenue is on the site of a rental building, on a lot with a 99ft frontage. This would be the 3rd tower on block, across from 25-55 E12th Ave (rules changed via #BroadwayPlan amendments). Further details on ShapeYourCity https://t.co/RpLzDQdZkk

Crombie REIT’s proposal for Safeway at Commercial Drive: just 10% of 1,044 units to be at ave. city rent—not affordable! Staff say it fails City policies, but recommend approval. At the REIT’s Davie St. Safeway, 1BRs go for $3,250. 🗓️ Public Hearing May 15 ✖️ Tell Council VOTE NO

A MASSIVE story. Tip of the iceberg. Lowball property assessments save big property owners zillions of dollars, resulting in bigger tax bills for everyone else. It's a systemic issue, and not fair. One wonderful success here for the People vs Holborn. #vanpoli #vanre

The City of Vancouver ordered the demolition of the dilapidated former Dunsmuir House in December. Now, after a public complaint, the province has nearly tripled the assessed value of the property - meaning a bigger tax bill for the owner. https://t.co/AduqY3HI8I
