Jose Argueta was told to go to a D.C. police station to pick up his stolen car. Instead of getting his car back, he was detained by ICE at the 5D station. My latest -- about two incidents that resurface questions about MPD's relationship with ICE:

Well: reporting confirms it – the Justice Department withheld Epstein files that contained allegations about Trump abusing a minor. What are these people trying to hide?

The 15th street bike lane is one of the best bike routes in the country and even contemplating removing the stretch across the National Mall is a travesty. I’ll be introducing an @ANC1B resolution urging @DDOTDC and @MayorBowser to protect our streets.

Columbia Heights would love a second entrance! I even mention this in my platform 😉 Ward 1 has only 2½ Metro stations. This type of upgrade can make public transit more efficient & attractive than driving. Of course in an ideal world we'd be talking about infill stations…
@joe5f6 Remember that Foggy only has one entrance and has even higher ridership than NoMa. Columbia Heights has large ridership and could use a south entrance. Farragut North-West is a critical missing link. And other regional stations have opportunity as well. Lots to do.

More bicycling benefits everyone, including this non-rider:

I am not a bicyclist, and I sometimes wish that more of them would stop for me when I’m in a crosswalk or stay off the sidewalk. But despite that, I’ve got to admit that the growth of bicycling is...

President Trump is turning DC into his own, weird theme park with no regard for the history and importance of the Nation’s Capital. All while the do-nothing Republican Congress cedes its constitutional authority over the District.
Last time D.C. staged a Grand Prix, then-Mayor Anthony Williams got so much blowback over the rip-roaring noise that the 10-year race contract was cut off. https://t.co/aR1nhFVA0o

Feeling for all the great reporters @wapo this morning. The Metro Section was the only real reason I subscribed. All the President’s Men made me love & respect news. I want to read from smart people who know things & hold power accountable, not random bot opinions on Twitter.

This is the correct framing. These aren’t just cuts. This was MURDER. Sad day for all of DC. https://t.co/jGkbfCMYb9

Snow hauling operations are ongoing in DC as crews remove snowcrete from streets. Over 900 loads are hauled daily to disposal sites like Carter Barron to ensure safer travel & restore full operations. Temporary lane closures may happen during work, so use caution near work zones.

We understand the frustration. The signs were posted before the snowstorm and are part of standard notice. Meter installation is paused until further notice due to weather. When work resumes, new signs will be posted with at least 72 hours notice. Thank you for your patience.

With the sun shining today, it’s a great time to tackle the snowcrete on sidewalks. If you’re able, please help your neighbors by clearing sidewalks and pathways to keep everyone moving safely. Stay warm and take care while you’re out!

Snowcrete can become an ice mixture, making removal tough. As crews work to remove "snowcrete" in crosswalks, bike lanes, and roads, let's come together as schools and businesses reopen. Sign up to volunteer and help your neighborhood! 🔗 https://t.co/d1fi2qymc5
