TLDR: Confronted with God's law, I realised I was guilty. I heard the good news and stopped trusting good works but trusting in what Jesus did to save me. God changed me supernaturally and I am still growing. There is only salvation in Jesus Christ, not in being a "good" person.

Since then I have had my ups and downs. I am on a life-long path of santification, I am still growing and learning. I still fail at much. Life hasn't gotten easier (maybe the opposite?) But now I take refuge in God. I can absolutely always trust Him, for real.

In one night, God set me free from watching/playing sexual content. I no longer enjoyed what God hated but enjoyed what God loved. Now I have a relationship with my creator, he Himself, the Holy Spirit, lives within me, pulling me towards Him.

Sin no longer separated me from God and I got gifted eternal life (heaven). But it doesn't stop there! On the same night that I trusted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, God did a personal MIRACLE in me. God made me "born again"! I'll explain..

Jesus never sinned, yet He willingly gave up His life for me and paid for my sins on the cross. Jesus essentially paid my fine, my bail, so that I can legally, justly be let go free! By putting my trust in what He did and not on the good I did, I was forgiven.

Turns out the word "gospel" means good news! (Had only heard it in mass, because of the 4 NT books) The good news is that the same impeccable just judge, was also love and merciful and had sent His only Son Jesus Christ to pay for my sins. Do you understand the legal implication?
