I have recently begun to consider smoking tobacco in order to quell my tormented soul, but then I'd get worried I'm going to die earlier than I should from the misuse of my lungs, a worry which then of course would require more smoking to quell...hmmmm....a pickle indeed...

Which doesn't make a thing automatically bad but the more of a fork you try to make your spoon then the less of a spoon it will be, every medium should chase after it's own platonic ideal instead of trying to fuse with each other and entering and endless zero sum game tug of war.

The easier it is to recreate the crux of your game's experience on other mediums i.e movies, books, board games,etc... the further away your game is from the unique strengths of the medium.
