"Well, ND shouldnt have been abive Bama in the first place." - If true, why did they move ND above Bama? We all know it was to keep space between ND and Miami. The committee was putting ND in over Miami so long as Virginia won. We all know it.

Bama jumping ND the final week with no justification whatsoever. Clearly done to (1) assure Bama was in regardless of whether BYU won, and (2) to give the committee grounds to stuff either ND or Miami, depending on the results of a game (Duke-UVa) neither played in. Thats it.

We know the committee is corrupt because it's unjustifiable decisions and ever shifting criteria made that apparent, but what's Stewart's solution? Not to stamp out corruption. No, instead just get rid of the weekly show so it's not as apparent.

"The committee can't be corrupt because it consists of self-serving politician-types who rose to the rank of AD" might be the dumbest argument I've ever heard.
This week’s Mailbag, on: Notre Dame’s AD going scorched earth on the ACC Should we scrap the committee and bring back BCS computers? Mendoza vs. Pavia And someone asks us to audit tax returns to weed out corrupt committee members. Their families too.

Much easier to be inconsistent and full of shit once a year instead of multiple times, but that wouldnt fix the real problem.

The weekly shows are great. How would we know the committee is utterly corrupt without them?
The CFP has a credibility crisis thanks to its Tuesday night rankings shows. They're misleading. They set false expectations. They taint the process. And they're contractually obligated to keep doing them for another 6 years. https://t.co/tYtlrPsXeM

The BYU complaints are dumb. Point of the playoff is to crown the best team. Getting obliterated by the same team twice proves that BYU isnt it.
Someone will have to explain to me how Miami losing to two unranked teams and not even making its conference championship makes it a better team than BYU, which only lost on the road to the 4th-ranked team in the country. Sports media is every bit as corrupt as news media.

Shifting criteria and unexplainable differences in application go beyond stupidity. It is a conspiracy. Miami fans shouldnt defend it. Deserved to jump ND, but only did because Duke won. Had Duke lost, ND would've remained ahead. Nonsensical result to protect Bama regardless.
Never assume a conspiracy when garden-variety stupidity is probably the answer. The committee should have had Miami ahead of Notre Dame the entire time. The facts never changed. The committee just finally realized how dumb it looked.

Miami and Bama getting in would prove this theory correct.
@5FootNothinPod @WoodruffWildcat @bruce_straughan Would make sense if the committee was genuine, but thats giving it too much credit. It has other concerns. Priorities appear to be: 1. Get Bama in. 2. Get ACC in. 3. Get ND in. No other explanation for ranking last week, esp Bama jumping ND.

Best coaching hire this year by far.
I don’t think people understand Iowa State was the WORST P5 program of ALL-TIME before Matt Campbell arrived. Before Campbell: (1895-2015) .429 Win % ❌ • 0 10-Win Seasons ❌ • 2 AP T25 Finishes ❌ • 10 Seasons in AP T25 ❌ • 3 Bowl Wins ❌ IN 119 SEASONS. During

Other coaches rejecting Penn St will be the best thing that ever happened to Penn St. Campbell is the perfect hire. Criminally underrated.

ND' post Miami schedule: - 4 Miami common opponents. - Worst Big 10 team (0-9 in conf). - Worst SEC team (0-8) - Worst ACC team (1-7) - 2 GA teams - USC and A&M (L). Not a good enough schedule to overcome losing to its two best opponents.
Miami’s schedule after playing Notre Dame? - FCS Bethune-Cookman - A G5 school - 4 win team - 5 win team - unranked team (loss) - 4 win team - unranked team (loss) - 3 win team - 7 win team - 3 win team - 8 win team Miami placed 3rd in the 5th best conference in FBS.

"Bama's in no matter what now. Yeah, we had them jump ND based on a terrible win, but people wont complain too much about that. If Duke wins, we drop BYU and use head to head for Miami to jump ND. If Duke loses, we say we're not punishing BYU for losing and keep it as a buffer"

"Alright guys, we know our priorities. How do we assure that (1) Bama gets in, (2) ACC gets in, and (3) ND gets in? If we do it this way, we're assured of the first two and possibly all three. Gives us the most options next week. Great job!"

Theyre giving themselves options. - If BYU wins its non-issue. - If UVA wins, back Bama behind ND for losing and keep ND in and Miami out. - If Duke wins, put Miami so ACC not left out. Considerations other than football take precedence. It's wrong. Basically corrupt judges.
The more I think about it, the more I wonder if the committee smartly figured out the only way to fix the Miami-ND problem it created for itself. A BYU win puts both out. A Texas Tech blowout can create direct head-to-head. A close Tech wins keeps the BYU buffer in between.

The committee is corrupt. Who they want in and giving them options is their prime concern. Want the option to move Miami in if Duke wins ACC left out, or to put ND in if not. It was never about which team is better/more deserving, and that should piss every cfb fan off
It would’ve sort’ve made sense if they had jumped Miami over ND tonight at the conclusion of the season. But they didn’t, and neither team plays another game, and no common opponents play another game, so you’d think they’d confirmed ND ahead of Miami. But then the chair is

Have yet to hear a single coherent argument as to why conference affiliation should trump results on the field. If the people agreeing with Lea have one, by all means let us know what it is.
NEW: Vandy's Clark Lea tells @clowfb the 'silliness' of trying to make everybody happy has marred the College Football Playoff🏆 “It is just absurd the idea that we’re going to open the door to teams that play in conferences that aren’t the SEC that have the same record we have.

Sark's five road games: 3 losses. OT wins over Miss St and Kentucky. Was incapable of being position to even do this. His complaints are laughable.
This is the play Sark is referencing. Miami and ND have a common opponent with Pitt, and the Irish only beat the Panthers by 22. Mario Cristobal called for this play in a game that was already far over https://t.co/GbCtvTX4K7
