FSE Executive Director Ronan Evain: "We are seeing things that would be completely unacceptable elsewhere in society, in a concert hall, a festival, or a metro station. Those police practices are putting people's health and lives at risk." https://t.co/8oRXlrcs7e
State-sanctioned brutality against football fans remains the norm in France. Still beating, still kettling, still tear gassing. Even after their own senate told them to stop. Section in this piece where @FansEurope tell me lives are being put at risk.

The year is 2025 and French public authorities are still incapable of emptying an away sector in safe and secure conditions. Left: Marseille-Newcastle Right: PSG-Tottenham

It is incomprehensible how bad Liverpool have become. Can't recall seeing a top team look more poorly coached or like they've got less belief in what they're supposed to be doing. Felt like everyone involved - on the pitch, touchline, and in the crowd - fully gave up tonight.

The COP summits have long felt largely redundant and this outcome is desperately bleak but not surprising. There is very little time left but the major nations would rather spend it appeasing banks, engaging in conflicts and demonising people from the lower rungs of society.

A 4-3 win for us with the last kick of the game after a defeat and a draw in previous years. More importantly the game was played in Dan's spirit - fair play, hard work, and smiles on people's faces. Throw a few quid in if you can: https://t.co/NyinohpGCi
Great night with brilliant people at the third annual Dan Kay memorial match at the LFC training ground. Dan adored Liverpool - club, city, and people. Please donate a few quid if able to the foundation set up in his name, doing vital mental health work. https://t.co/NyinohqerQ

Also spoke to Anthony Crolla and David Price about Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul, an event that seems a further step into parody for a sport becoming scarcely recognisable from what most fans fell in love with. https://t.co/zDWEwJexRq

Interviewed Gennady Golovkin about coming back to fight again, the future of Olympic boxing, Saudi Arabia's influence, YouTube fighters, AI, the Ali Act, and more. The election he's standing in for a very powerful role is less than a week away. https://t.co/8A3bTN5knE

I'd happily chain watch every international version of this back to back. Even subtitled non-anglophone ones. Give me an Estonian morning show chef betraying the trust of a former Olympic hammer throw athlete. A Peruvian model in cahoots with an ex-politician. All of them.

Every time it gets to the final episode, I think The Traitors probably can't throw up a new kind of outcome, or grip with quite the same intensity. That was proper heart beating out of chest tension with an amazing payoff. Maybe the best one yet. Incredible television.

Milan and Inter have bought San Siro, so that they can knock it down and build a new one. Analysis, visuals, and interviews with Milan chairman and Shevchenko here on why they've fallen so far from PL clubs and whether this can help claw back the gap 👇 https://t.co/Ki3MW13wfp

Giving Real Madrid a hiding at Anfield every autumn becoming a nice annual tradition. Could get used to it.

Attending a Halloween party for the first time since I was about 8 years old and decided to be Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4, mainly because my hair is now long enough to do his curtains. "Where's everyone going? Bingo?"

Spent a lot time with some really great people on this trip, whose bonds might be built around football but run much deeper. Worst part of the travel unquestionably the nine hours from my house to Cornwall. No direct trains home from Newcastle today is a lovely touch, too.

Went from Cornwall to Gateshead with Truro fans on the longest away in history to explore why community, solidarity, and pride make following a football team so special. Loved it. 914 miles, 185 fans - doing English football's furthest ever away day 👇 https://t.co/QQtdRcHgGX

I've travelled from Cornwall to Gateshead with fans of Truro, who have made furthest journey to an away match in English league football history. A 914-mile round trip and it is freezing. But everyone buzzing to be here. Football is the best thing about this country.

Went for a big walk around Salford - where loads of Union Jacks have been tied to lampposts - to ask people about patriotism, identity, and decency. Most care far more about living in a community where people get along than anything else. https://t.co/KrT5rQNb6l
