For those who love Hakai for its coverage of the coasts and oceans: that's not going away. Instead, we're zooming out, expanding our focus to explore biodiversity writ large. You can expect the same rigorous science, character-based stories, and compelling narratives.

You can read more about the whole plan here, but the deal is this: . We've lined up enough foundation funding to cover _some_ of the team moving over and working full time. But to get going full speed, out budget _depends_ on reader support.

It's OFFICIAL. @hakaimagazine will continue; not in name, but in spirit. In January 2025, senior staff from Hakai will be joining bioGraphic magazine . That means more awesome narrative features and science-based news. But, of course, WE NEED YOUR HELP
