Admiral Schofield is one of the classiest guys in college basketball. He was standing by himself in the tunnel as I walked through to get something. I stopped and spoke to him for a second. A couple of UK fans waited around to take a picture with him.
In what was likely his final game at Kroger Field, Lynn Bowden walked to the UK logo and took it all in. Special moment. Special player. Special career.
Jacob Toppin declares for NBA Draft to test the process.
UK fan in comments on Facebook: "Sick and tired of one and done."
Toppin is a three-year college basketball player (2 at Kentucky)
At this point, I'm not sure people even know what they're complaining about.
Please pray for Terrence Clarke's family and the UK family. I'm heartbroken for his family and those who love him. Unbelievably sad. Love your people every moment of every day.
I saw this live but didn’t know if TV got it. Immanuel Quickley made big plays late in the game at SC and gave Kentucky a chance to force overtime. After SC’s shot went in, IQ had his head down. Maxey goes over and puts his arms around his teammate. This shot says a lot.
Nick Richards just delivered one of the best performances I’ve ever seen from a UK player. What he did the entire second half and overtime with four fouls was amazing. He deserved it.
Holy hell what a story. The Kentucky kid is having his moment. You know Dontaie Allen envisioned nights like this when he was kid. He's doing it with Kentucky across his chest.
I didn’t realize this the other night because I was so caught up in Maxey’s shot. Watch Ashton Hagans defensively. He doesn’t celebrate the shot. He immediately deny’s the ball inbounds, forcing Michigan State to use their final timeout.
Kentucky was 2-3 after the first five games of the season. They looked to be left for dead after South Carolina. Instead, they finish 8-5 with a Governor’s Cup win and Belk Bowl championship. What an unbelievable season. Hell of a job by Mark Stoops and his staff.
On his call in show, John Calipari said he wants BBN to stand during the final five minutes of games.
“The way that crowd was in that Mississippi game, it should be the standard every time you walk in Rupp Arena.”
This UK basketball team is going to be special but don’t forget UK football is working on something special. The next couple of months can be a lot of fun all around. That first week of November has a football game with Georgia and a basketball game with Duke. Enjoy it.
Oscar Tshiebwe is the second player in Kentucky men’s basketball history to be named player of the year by the Associated Press. Anthony Davis was the first in 2012.
I’ve always been a big supporter of John Calipari, even through the hard times. But he deserves the criticism that comes his way this off-season. Not sure any of us can defend him. I hate it because I love Cal, but this isn’t acceptable. It’s not Kentucky.
I see De'Aaron Fox cooked Lonzo Ball again today. 30 points, 10 assists, and 3 steals for Fox. 9 points and 11 assists for Ball. The Kings won 140-125.
I noticed Jacob Toppin step in and talk to Chris Livingston after he made a mistake on the defensive end last night. Toppin knew John Calipari was going to yell at Chris so he stepped in and corrected the mistake. Leadership from Kentucky’s captain.
A Texas A&M fan at the hotel is impressed with the number of Kentucky fans that made the trip. “Everywhere I go, I see UK and it’s not even basketball season.”
I woke up this morning ready to give Mark Pope a chance. He’s a Wildcat and that’s one hell of a starting point. He truly understands what this program is about and what it takes to win a national championship. I’m all the time talking about the value of Kentucky experience but…
It's amazing how Grove St. Party became the anthem of Kentucky football and now Waka Flocka Flame is at Kroger Field for the team entrance. Pretty wild.
Kentucky dropped from the top-5 after the opening night loss. Three months later they have returned and look like a legit title contender. From where this team was on opening night, to now, this is one of Calipari’s best coaching jobs.
I doubt he wins it, but I think Immanuel Quickley deserves to be in the talk for SEC Player of the Year. Averaging 17.5 points per game and shooting 48 percent from three-point range in SEC play. He's a first-team All-SEC talent.
Terrence Clarke's mom was live on Instagram today recording his workout with BJ Boston. That was 6 hours ago. Such an awful situation. My thoughts are with BJ as well. A situation no one should have to experience. Prayers for all of those hurting tonight.
The morning of the national championship game and ESPN is talking about how much more exciting it would be if Zion were playing in the title game. I get it, but I think we should talk about the two teams that deserve the attention today.
No doubt Mitch Barnhart made the right hire in 2012. Mark Stoops has been named SEC Coach of the Year by the AP. The man has completely changed the culture in Lexington.
Terry Wilson received a lot of love from the fans as he left the field. I know he’s looking ahead to 2020. I also noticed the 2’s he held up. He tweeted after the game that the win was for 22.
Now that it’s official, Kentucky led the SEC in rushing yards and Lynn Bowden was the top rusher in the league. 1,468 yards for Bowden and 3,624 for Kentucky as a team.
Really glad to see Daimion Collins is committed to developing at Kentucky. He has so much potential. Big off-season coming for the 6-foot-9 forward. Continue working on adding strength to that frame. He will be more consistent in the rotation next season.
This is pretty wild. Kentucky men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and football all beat Florida by 11 points this season. Football won 27-16, men’s basketball 65-54, and women’s basketball 62-51.
What Oscar Tshiebwe accomplished this season is incredible. The first unanimous player of the year in Kentucky men's basketball history.
Think of all the legends that have played in the program. So deserving. Great player. Even better human being.
The No. 1 recruit for 2019, Anthony Edwards, was in attendance for tonight’s win. After the game, Ashton Hagans walked over and put his arm around him.
This Kentucky team lost to Georgia on the road two weeks ago and looked like they were headed to the NIT. Have to give John Calipari and the team credit. Here comes Kentucky.
Georgia is a monster in the east with Kirby but I truly believe there is a trip to Atlanta in the future for Mark Stoops and Kentucky. The talent coming to Lexington is unlike anything the program has ever experienced. Unbelievable what this staff has been able to achieve.
