Good advice for all job seekers (not just those applying to cloudflare) My 2 cents: The 'AI-slop-application explosion' now means your network and personal brand matters wayyy more than it ever did Building genuine connections with developers in the industry... Building cool

We're going to start seeing a big shift in the hiring process for Software Engineers in the near future Companies will start directly testing for 'AI-Judgement' Instead of "reverse a binary tree", you'll get: → The model hallucinated during a p1. Roll back or add guardrails?

Today we're launching @reviewdotfast, speeding up human review of AI generated code 3X. AI changed the world, sped up writing code, but shifted the bottleneck to review. If you can speed up code review, you can ship more. It's as simple as that.

It's always the devs that make a language their entire personality, that have the most braindead takes on this platform. You give them the benefit of the doubt...then you fall for the bait...then realise ur intuition was right all along.

that's literally my point you clown🤦‍♂️ you dont build every layer from scratch when you dont have scale (use a 3rd party provider) you would only start thinking about rolling your own 'X' when you reach scale or ignore everything and be slower than the rest of the world; less

@chinedu_10 There, the golden word, "scale". Most of us are optimizing for a scale we will never experience anyway 😂

Spent the majority of this morning qualifying 27 Engineers out of the first 100 applications I'm going through applications as fast as I can so pls bear with me! Some amazing talent in the pool! Everything from Backend, to Infra, to ML/AI, to Data Science. Mid-level. Senior.

Auth is deceptively complex (especially at scale) Sure you should have a good grasp of the foundations, but don't let these less experienced devs gate-keep you from using a trusted 3rd-party library that just works Someone else spent a lot of time and energy thinking about the

When people ask what's the difference between Senior and Staff. This is a good example.

Rust has SIMD and Java doesn't saar blah blah blah... Well, this guy rewrote a Java microservice in Rust. But then he lost his job. Why? Sometimes the hardest system to design isn’t the software, it’s the people around it. => What actually happened when he rewrote in Rust? -

Not quite Less experienced devs do not get this same productivity output Experience and taste matters even more now More experience / Better taste = asking better questions and building better prompts What would take 1 prompt for a senior dev, takes 10 prompts for a junior

Experience no longer really matters in software engineering. Opus 4.5 basically levelled the playing field. Jesus - 10 years of my life were for nothing

Hiring for the last 2 years has been brutal because resume signal was collapsing under volume, while demand for AI talent rose exponentially. Nairon fixes that. Hiring partners define the projects. Candidates build them. Those projects are the signal, fully understood by the

Lmao benchmarks from labs are always going to be biased If you fall for that fallacy, you deserve to get left behind Or...be smart and always use RepoBench/cline-bench for reference

If you're a strong engineer, all you want is to be taken seriously. You should NOT have to: Spend 6 months applying to 500 Companies Going through a 6-stage interview process Only to be rejected 😩 Companies should be fighting for YOU! working hard to make this the new

If you think about it, I'm basically bending reality to make the current archaic hiring process (multi-round interviews) obsolete. Either you can think critically and can build whatever you need to (congrats you're an Engineer) ✅ OR You can't (congrats you know this field
