If there's little evidence of a policy working, why spend resources on doing it more? Stop and frisk policies have shown small associations with crime reduction (~2%) w/o accounting for the high psychological and physical costs on those who are stopped

Some are advocating bringing it back. But it doesn’t get many guns off the streets, it exacts a heavy toll on those who are stopped, and it corrodes trust in police.
