True, and good call poli. They were naive.
My first job was with a GE Healthcare. When I got a better offer somewhere else, an older employee tried to talk me out of it, saying that GE was the kind of company that would take care of you your whole career. 7 years later, GE shuttered that entire group and fired everyone.
