I've seen tons of people saying how this piece helps them understand Embiid in a way they have before, and I don't think that happens if it's not done with a journalist and told as a piece of journalism. Those first-person pieces just don't resonate the same way.

Great story, and great job getting Embiid to open up in a way we've never seen or heard before. Also big props to Embiid for sitting for an interview (or multiple interviews), as opposed to just doing a player podcast or, like, a Player's Tribune piece.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I cannot believe an objectively hilarious moment that everyone everywhere has enjoyed laughing at is about to be thrown into the Takes Machine.

I remember like 8 years ago someone at the NBPA telling me the most dangerous thing for them was all the players thinking Adam Silver was their friend.
i think there's another point i hope the players in this video understand: that lady ain't your friend, even if she's dancing with you at the club.
