“Emotion has never won any struggle.” Respectfully, sir, this not an intelligent take. You accuse others of not knowing the economics of health financing, now you are exhibiting a deep lack of understanding of human nature. From time immemorial, every struggle that was

@abassajayi Emotions have never won any struggle. All the emotional strikes in the past – what real results did they bring? We all need to swallow our emotions and begin to think strategically; that's if it's true progress we want. If we want only validation, then, by all means, emote away.

I am surprised you believe NMA has such powers. They don’t. Simple truth. CMDs are not NMA. It is not Me vs You. It is Us vs the Government.

You know this to not be true I have seen numerous government circulars mandating CMDs to implement the consultancy cadre in their institutions, yet implementation remains erratic NMA threatened strike and forced govt to withdraw circular on revised CONHESS just recently

The government is playing you. NMA cannot stop them from implementing anything. When they wanted to start the PharmD program, who stopped them? This is what the government wants; to create confusion/competition amongst workers.

They are. Funny enough, the biggest obstacle they face is not the government but NMA, which has been standing in the way of implementation of consultancy cadre as it is obtained elsewhere in the world and even salary increases

They’re not holding the system down, sir. They’re helping the people by constantly pushing the government to do better. Whether in the public or private hospitals, it is the same doctors who provide the services. So, a better public health system is for the people.

@NigeriaStories This incessant Resident Doctors strike is very unbecoming. Resident Doctors are still under training but they are the ones always holding the health system, those they are punishing are poor Nigerian as those that can afford are all at private facilities.

@Yantumakii I just might. One that addresses our tendency as a people to feed our ridiculous biases and deliberately make up pseudo sensible excuses for bad behaviour, which ultimately contributes to the rot and debilitation of our society.

@Yantumakii making up ridiculous excuses. Defenders of the undeserving. A character flaw, if you somehow find yourself defending something bad just because... I was in the hospital yesterday. This woman had her baby 2 weeks ago. She got home the day after delivery and immediately
