Most of the world's problems arise from small-mindedness, the thinking that life revolves around one's petty concerns, and the failure to imagine that reality is far grander, richer and more nuanced than one's narrow perspective.

No president should have the power to suspend an elected official. The Supreme Court has set a very dangerous precedent. One that can slide us into tyranny.

If a constitutional amendment were proposed today, do you think the Nigerian president, with the approval of two-thirds of both chambers of the National Assembly, should have the power to suspend an elected governor for up to six months during a state of emergency?

The idiots that defended the judgement when media reports said the SC upheld BATโ€™s suspension of democratic norms also want to laugh that people that complained about that were wrong as itโ€™s possible the SC didnโ€™t. Lmao

Nigerian Democracy is officially over. If the President can suspend elected Governors in another Federating unit. Itโ€™s over. Letโ€™s move on and try something else. The Supreme Court has killed our democracy and we will never recover from this.

A president can decide to manufacture a crisis in the state of a governor who dares to oppose him just to have them suspended or even suspend democratically elected persons for the most trivial of reasons. Who gets to define what an emergency is?

The judgement of the SC is dangerous. We already have governors becoming subservient to the president, with some of them even defecting to the ruling party just to be in the good graces of the president. This trend would only be worsened by this judgement.
