@BCBacker really screwed my head back on in 2020 and helped me set emotion aside during a horrible market crash. @digitalassetbuy for his never give up attitude. We often disagree (and he still has me blocked). But I would never have started developing if not for his content.

Holding onto belief and conviction over the course of 4 years is not easy and there are several people I'd like to thank personally. @JohnEDeaton1 for rallying the XRP Army. @Santiag78758327 for his measured confident and rational belief that things would turn around.

I'm excited for the future. I hope with the regulatory burden lifted off the industry, there will be a wave of funding for developers and innovators to take these use cases to the next level. $XRP is in pole position and @FlareNetworks F-Assets seems right around the corner.

So the SEC lawsuit had the opposite effect they intended. Instead of driving me away from $XRP, I engaged. Not only as a holder, but as a developer. I've met other builders like @WietseWind and @ShortTheFOMO and have a much deeper understanding of the technology behind the XRPL.

That dovetailed into a 2nd @RippleXDev grant to fund @LightsrcGames which is currently in stealth mode but we are planning to launch this year.

Eventually I was able to secure a @Ripple grant for what became the @ZerpCraft project. While ZerpCraft was eventually killed by Microsoft, I have super fond memories of that time and everything I learned about blockchain development by making an actual product.

That day the lawsuit was announced. Spoiler alert, I never had the call with Hugo. He had much bigger fish to fry. (No hard feelings). That day was a 1-2 punch. Not only was I totally questioning my thesis about $XRP, but I wasn't sure where I would get funding for my project.

I had a Zoom call scheduled that day with @HugoPhilion to pitch my idea for a project I was calling the "Minecraft Tip Jar" built on Flare. I had a basic Solidity contract, a Powerpoint presentation, and a whole lot of excitement for what F-Assets could eventually do for gaming.

But $XRP wasn't the only project I was feeling bullish about on December 22nd. You see, I had been looking at another project at the same time. @FlareNetworks was slowly building. At this point there was no $FLR token, no $SGB, I don't recall if Coston was even live.

In retrospect, it's easy to see how the money printer go brrr meme was going to kick off a spectacular bull market for crypto, but on December 22nd 2020 I can say I was cautiously optimistic. $XRP had experienced only a month of positive price action.

To set the stage, I have to talk about 2020 more broadly. It was a hard year for everyone, but it was especially difficult for the crypto industry. The market was JUST starting to see some signs of a bull market in early 2020 and COVID was a gut punch for the XRP market.

With the conclusion of the @SECGov v. @Ripple lawsuit, I thought I'd commemorate the day with a personal never-before-told story of how the lawsuit impacted me personally and changed the course of my development projects for the past 4 years. 🧵.
