Thanks @HarryGowBakery for the outstanding cake, and to all who came along to the book launch in Dornoch Bookshop today for a pair of new @EdinburghUP paperbacks focused on two different, yet, in some ways, similar, historical Highland scholars named James or Seumas.

The Highlands and Islands provides Scotland's closest geographical links to both the Republic of Ireland (via Islay) and Norway (via Shetland). A couple of reasons, from many, to celebrate the outstanding Gaelic current affairs programme that is #Eòrpa
This month’s #Eòrpa is a cracker. Annabel and the team were in the Mountains of Transylvania looking at illegal logging and meeting the activists risking their lives to protect the forests (fully subtitled) https://t.co/v9IRQ0TW84

A privilege to be presiding officer at @UHIMoray for this today. I hadn't prepared for just how emotional an experience it would be. Well done, students, and also guests and organisers for creating a first-rate event. #ThinkUHI

Archaeology is all around you in #Orkney 🤯 A winter storm uncovered this ancient shipwreck on the Sanday shore ⚓ After a race against time, it has been preserved so experts can discover its true origin 🧐 @OrkneyCouncil @wessexarch

Was lucky to visit Kirkwall with work last week. In my hotel I heard a staff member summarise Orkney history brilliantly to an American couple. Told her I thought her summary was outstanding. She asked if I knew about @ThinkUHI. She was a history and archaeology student of ours!
