šŸ“…Day 21: Early intervention matters - Areas like Bolton and Wigan help disadvantaged pupils ā€˜catch up’ from large age-5 gaps to below-national gaps by 11. Few areas achieve this by age 16, showing how early intervention is critical to prevent disadvantaged pupils falling behind.

Inferring word meaning from texts is more difficult for children with DLD. This (further) highlights the importance of early identification of #DevLangDis - left unsupported, such difficulties with listening/reading comprehension will impact on educational outcomes.
