New 🎥 on recent conservation works at the Athlone Number One Gun Battery https://t.co/KASKc6Vg6b The No. 1 is the last remaining of example of the eight gun batteries constructed to defend Athlone from the threat of Napoleonic invasion.

'The Gaelic League & the Hill of Uisneach' online lecture by Angus Mitchell to be hosted by Westmeath Archaeological & Historical Society on 25 Sept at 8pm. Angus Mitchell a widely published historian was awarded @RIAdawson Bursary to research the Hill of Uisneach 1898 - 1928.
