I don't think it's divided the "wine world," only the much smaller "winegrowing/winemaking" worlds. In 24 years, not *one* consumer has ever mentioned or asked me about cultured vs. natural yeasts.
For years, a passionate debate has divided the wine world: should winemakers embrace the scientific control of commercial yeasts or rely on faith in the wild, indigenous yeasts from their own vineyards? Our latest “Vine to Wine” column by viticulturist Romain Bocchio from

A truly great human being. And one of the greatest friends to animals who ever lived. 💔
Jane Goodall, the world’s foremost expert on chimpanzees whose work was captured in more than 40 documentaries, has died. She was 91. https://t.co/3JBVcaul7l

Just found out via @LinkedIn that @tomcwark, one of my favorite #winewriters, marketers and industry thinkers, was also fascinated by and learned much from this great book--my favorite--by #JamesConaway.

When a @CountyofSonoma winemaker charging $250/bottle and $150/tasting worries about new customers but balks at $1 for marketing, well...you know...(@WSJ's headline "Raise Prices" is typical BS) https://t.co/FpMGggK4T0

In the famed wine country, trade leaders proposed a new ‘tax’ to offset the graying consumer base. The backlash was swift.

I lived in lovely #Morocco ("Maghreb" or المغرب) as a @USMC Embassy Guard before my love of #wine truly hold, and back then, there wasn't much to behold. Times have changed! Vive le Maroc! 🇲🇦 https://t.co/9r22UWv8u4

Viticulture in Morocco dates back 2,000 years, but only now is it getting wider acclaim as a winemaking country.

#Riedel glass and decanters are very nice, yes. And so are mine! Cheers!
Welcome to Wine Wednesday! The Riedel Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon decanters. They do appear bigger than they actually are. But both are very versatile on the kitchen table.

Well, it's not "taking over," but #VinJaune is finally getting some notice in the lower 48. Can't speak to Alaska or Hawai'i. Weird bottle. Unique taste, but similar to dry #FinoSherry.

Doc, this sounds like it's very good for the heart, the soul, and for damn sure the palate! Unusual and very delicious blend.
Friday wine, my reward for a damn busy week in surgery. 41% Grenache, 27% Petite Sirah, 25% Syrah, bits of Mourvèdre & Petit Manseng. Huge nose, deep ripe dark fruits, & surprisingly soft tannins. This is so nice. 2020 Next Of Kyn No 14 Cumulus Vineyard. @jebdunnuck 100! Cheers!

#Chablis is the most authentic expression of #Chardonnay. And #PetitChablis is far better than you think! #WineWednesday

More than 80 years after Petit Chablis became an official category, the 100% Chardonnay wine is finally coming into its own.

A glass of red wine could provide a variety of health benefits, but be careful with your consumption.
