The Acclaimed feels like AEW's first true started-from-the-bottom act they've ever gotten to the top.
Came in as a job team on Dark, wrestling in front of no one, and two years later, had a stadium of fans celebrating their championship win.
A success story before our eyes.
The idea that babyfaces must face some sort of adversity or major setback prior to winning the prize is such nonsense.
People like wrestlers who kick ass and win. It's not complicated.
Could you imagine if Batista had lost to Hunter at Mania because he "needed a struggle?" Or…
Thank you everyone for the kind words. I appreciate every single one of you.
Those of you that know me know that I love pro wrestling. I think it's the greatest form of entertainment on earth.
And I'm ready to work hard for it.
Thank you
@TonyKhan
. Thank you
@AEW
.
Fun fact. The original Xbox was the first platform this was ever possible on, as it was the only console on the market at the time with a hard disk drive.
The game would begin recording a short .mpeg file the moment a move was executed and play it back as soon as it processed,…
7 years ago, I was a survivor of the movie theater mass shooting in Colorado. At the time, I had enough faith in my country that I believed something was going to be done to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
Now I'm beyond disappointed. I'm furious.
#EnoughIsEnough
Batista eliminating Shawn Michaels at Royal Rumble 2010. Shawn's fingertips holding on for dear life and Big Dave just dashed his hopes and dreams was A+ heel shit.
Today is a really difficult anniversary, as we've officially hit the one decade mark.
July 19, 2022 marks ten years since the last day I ever felt truly safe in my surroundings, as just after the stroke of midnight on the 20th, a gunman opened fire at our movie theater
Man. I know this app isn't one for nuance but AEW programming has been solid since Cody's departure and Revolution was one of their best PPVs.
Also, Cody had a spectacular return that's getting tons of big buzz and he got to beat Seth in a major match.
Both parties seem fine 🤷🏿♂️
Chris Jericho once beat Goldberg in a shoot fight in 2003.
NONE of you know who could throw hands based on their appearance and wrestling characters, guys.
This is not the America we grew up in and I no longer recognize our country. If everyday Americans do not get involved in the civic process now, we will lose our way of life.
This honestly goes beyond AEW. When Roman got suspended in 2016 and WWE needed someone to step up and work both house show tours as WWE Champion, the answer even then was Jon.
Through and through.
For the record, Miro, Nick Comoroto and Tay Conti are the only talents that WWE cut who signed with AEW.
Andrade, Moxley, Jericho, FTR, Brodie Lee, PAC, Christian, Cody, Dustin Rhodes, Matt Hardy, Jake Hager, Paul Wight, Sting, and Shawn Spears all voluntarily left WWE contracts
Nothing drives me more nuts than seeing Swerve Strickland reduced to being a "WWE guy."
He wrestled there for two years, but I promise you they didn't conjure him up out of thin air. Man's got a resume as deep as anyone on the AEW roster.
Y'all get nostalgic for anything.
No. This wasn't pretty cool. Everything about this stunk and the fact that Jinder is where he is today is proof that it was ineffective.
Wherever AEW ends up streaming, I just want the content to stream sequentially, regardless of what show it is.
If I'm done watching Revolution 2020, that doesn't mean queue up Revolution 2021. That means bring up the next episode Dynamite.
No network has gotten this right yet.
Young Bucks mentioned on BTE that not having the trios belts on Wednesday was simply a mistake. Distracted by all of the happenings and sadness of the day, they just forgot to grab them on their way out.
Congratulations to my friend and legit, my favorite female wrestler ever, Hikaru Shida. Your NEW AEW Women's World Champion.
THE GOAT HAS THE GOLD ONCE AGAIN

I mean...the answer is very obviously Hangman, but why even set Logan up for failure?
Petey Williams does a better Canadian Destroyer than Bad Bunny, but it's still cool that Bad Bunny did it.
I had a thought earlier. There was a very, very brief overlap but for the most part, Cody Rhodes and Bryan Danielson essentially traded places.
And to me, both have worked out for the better. I think we're seeing the absolute best versions of both currently.
Before I ever worked for AEW, I said I believe that Omega vs. Mox is the most important rivalry to AEW's history
So much of the company's story is tied into their conflict, going back to AEW's first show ever in DoN '19 and even the first Dynamite
And it continues Wednesday
Selling out the United Center is truly no small feat. Depending on the setup, it is the largest arena in America in terms of capacity (Greensboro Coliseum is the other)
For professional wrestling arenas, you'll never get a better look than this and AEW just did it twice.
This was the greatest night ever. Just perfect. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did giving it to you.
For the Stinger, man.
Thank you.

Just to add to the attendance topic.
WCW's largest sole promoted gate ever drew 41,412 fans. It was and still is considered a massive success.
It was at the Georgia Dome, which had a concert capacity of 80,000.
Was I alone in preferring the original Reggaeton version of Rey Mysterio's theme? I remember feeling in 2006 that it was a more relevant sound than nu-metal and that's definitely even more true now.
Guys. It's literally my second week. 😂
It's all Tony and an excellent team that's been at this far longer than I've been there.
I'm glad y'all loved
#AEWDynamite
this week though.
My god. The revisionist history around Bryan's story is off the charts
Does no one recall that the original plan was for Bryan to just lose to Orton, join the Wyatt Family, and move on? And it almost happened!
That entire Mania scenario was forced by an incredible fan backlash
@WilliamRBR
Daniel Bryan's story says this is dumb. Imagine building a character around chasing the title and then immediately giving it to him, just a braindead take.
Good lord. Cornette went on a 12 minute and 37 second rant based around it being too little, too late for Jay Lethal because he already lost to "the biggest joke in wrestling" Orange Cassidy and he can't be taken seriously.
Except they've only ever had one match and Lethal won.
Honestly, no. That's not why. Cody winning was my ideal ending, but the ref bump, the interference, Cody standing there like an idiot after the last Cross Rhodes waiting for Solo is what made it wack.
Just book a real fuckin finish
Only the second time Moxley has been beaten clean one on one in all three and a half years of AEW.
First was CM Punk at All Out last year.
#AEWDynamite
Maybe it's a hot take. Maybe it isn't. I dunno.
But I genuinely believe Darby Allin has been Joe's best opponent of the last ten years. Darby has brought the killer back out of him.
In 2007, we lost A LOT of guys back to back to back.
Started with HHH tearing his quad in January
Taker tore his bicep in May
HBK blew out his knee in May
Edge tore his pec in July
Bobby Lashley tore his rotator cuff in July
John Cena tore his pec in October
It was ROUGH.
Ended up going down a bit of a rabbit hole on black wrestlers holding singles titles across major promotions (WWE, WCW, AEW, etc.)
The longest reigning black singles champions ever are
1) MVP - US (343 Days)
2) Jade Cargill - TBS (283 Days)
2) Shelton Benjamin - IC (244 Days)
